Bent needle on humira

I have waited all morning for the kids to go out so I could take my humira injection in peace. They have just gone out. So I settled down, The cap was a bit stuck but it usually is and as I pulled it the needle bent at quite an angle.
So now I need to phone the company to ask if it will be okay to use (it doesnt look it). It is my last one so I have no back up until further delivery(which has not yet been arranged.
Somehow I feel it wasn't meant to be!

Well HaH are not at work for advice so I decided to go ahead with the bent injection. It wasn't a pleasent experience and I kept thinking what if it snaps during mid-injection. Well tube is empty now and I think the humira is somewhere in the system

Hi Elizabeth.
i'm sorry the needle bent but you did your best and i would think doing it like you did is better than not doing it.
i'm sorry i dont know anything about humira.
take care. joan xxtake care

Oh my goodness Elizabeth
That sounded a bit scary all round. Hope you did get the stuff where it needs to be and so glad the needle didn't snap. Typical there was no one at the end of the phone to advise but you did good.
You take care lass

Elizabeth, I hope the injection works for you you were incredibly brave going ahead with it.
I have to look at my normal meth one for ages before doing it and that is with a straight needle.
Well done

Hi Elizabeth
Well done for braving the bent needle! Hope all is ok after the deed. I had a couple of duff Humira pens, one without a needle at all if I remember correctly and the Humira went all over the place when I tried to use it!!!! When I had Humira, they always arranged delivery when I had a couple left so I was never without, so hopefully you can get another delivery soon.

Well done you Elizabeth
you did well there :???:
Hope and am sure all is well

Oh, I think you'd be fine with that Elizabeth, bent needle and all
The sharps are themselves very tiny and thin. Be thankful you don't have to inject Gold. It really does need a crochet needle, the liquid is so viscous and the injection site means that the District Nurse has to kiss it better
Cherry x0 -
Cherrybim, could you give me a bit more info on your District Nurse, please? If young, fit and male I think it's high time I went back on gold injections. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

hi all,
As it was my last injection i was frustrated about it bending so initially thought it was wasted but on further inspection, without touching the needle, I thought it might work as it is one whole piece of wire which extends into the actual tube with the humira inside. I was just scared about the weakened needle breaking mid-injection that is why it wasn't a pleasant experience.
I have had a delivery problem because i had a backlog and kept putting them off. They did say they would call in early March. I'm sure I can telephone them to arrange delivery but first I must defrost my fridge while I have the chance.
I wish those caps weren't such a tug. i'm always scared I am going to stab my finger. This cap was harder than normal so guess he did have one too many Weetabix. (Lynn you are making me hungry now).
It was definately better to have the injection than not Joan and that is what encouraged me.The thought of swollen knees was too much. Thanks for all your brilliant input-I wasn't expecting any replies.

Dear Elizabeth
I know nothing about humira but I believe in the circumstances you did really well. I am sure it will be ok. I can imagine that after getting no reply to your call you were determined to do the injection for a variety of reasons. Actually perhaps it is best on this occasion that you did not get a reply  because I think you may perhaps have gone ahead anyway, whatever they had said.
I hope you are able to get the delivery of the next batch in good time. I expect you will keep badgering them if you think there is any possibility you may not, knowing your efficient self.
Love

Elizabeth that was brave of you.
Well done.
I hope your next batch arrives quickly.

Hi Elizabeth,
Not so good when they are bent but they will still work and to be honest are unlikely to snap. Well done though and am sure you were right. As long as it can come out the needle it will be fine though not the easy though when you self inject.
Leaving a ((( ))) a hope Lucy's joints etc are ok and a hope you get the next delivery ok. Cris xx0 -
Hi Elizabeth,
Well done you for getting it done. It must have been a slow and painful injection to do. Defrosting the fridge is a contortion act so please be careful. I hope you get your delivery asap. You could do without the hassle.

Elna, if they had told me no I wouldn't have injected-honest but without their feedback i was left to make a decision based on the previous weeks of swollen knees and decided it might not be too bad.
Hi Cris originally i panicked but then decided if it worked okay others might benefit if faced with the same problem.
OH will do the fridge for me.

I have to do mine tonight - the caps are a tough act I agree but I suppose they have to fit tightly. I must admit I have never bothered to look at the needle, it's within the white cricle, yes? I just press it to me and plunge. I don't mind the meth needle: it's very fine, has to go in to the hilt but you don't feel it - well, I don't! I hope the stuff has worked better than your last one, tkachev and that you are feeling more of your usual level of benefit. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I have the headache from hell, a hot sweat, off food, numb area round the nose and my cough is back so every cough hurts so have stayed in bed.
The needle is partly inside the vial and extends outside, all one piece a bit like wire. I think it is quite flexible otherwise it would snap but a bent needle can still work as I have found out.
Sorry I must retire as feeling delicate. I called in to see how Elaine's appointment went today.

Don't tell me that bug is back - oh I really hope not, tkachev, I thought you were getting better. I hope staying in bed helps - sleep if you can. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

I am back and reporting for duty! The headache has finally gone and so has the sweats and numbness. I don't think it was a cold after all but could have been a side effect. It's difficult to know. The headaches tend to start in the middle of the night now, disturbing my sleep(not that I get much anyway).
Hope everyone is doing well,
