Don't take life too seriously. You'll never get out of it alive.

Only those who attempt the absurd can acheive the impossible.

When in charge, ponder. When in doubt, mumble. When in trouble, delegate.

The number of people watching you is directly proportional to the stupidity of your action.

Well-timed silence hath more eloquence than speech.

Rivers know this: there is no hurry. We shall get there someday.

If you can't see the bright side of life, polish the dull side.

The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool.

The road to success is always under construction.

Never go to a doctor whose office plants have died.

    Morning Joan
Very wise words this morning -- next time I visit my GP I shall be checking out his plants!

Hi Cath and Val, glad you liked the one about the doctor's plants  It reminded me of the last time I went for a ''well-person'' check-up, and the nurse giving me advice about how to stay fit was really obese

The one I have trouble with is Well-timed silence hath more eloquence than speech.

As anyone who knows me will tell you, I've never been very good at remaining silent

My Monday morning philosophy is to sleep through it, you won't miss much.

Get up early and get a good breakfast, so then you are well prepared for sleeping through the rest of the morning.
