Gosh, your tenth? I know you lost some time when the car was being repaired but that total has run up quite quickly! I hope it's all going well and yes, why not book the theory bit soon? I expect you have been mugging up on that quite a bit - does Hazel test you? I took my test long before it was done in two parts - I wonder if I would pass the theory bit now? Probably not! I wish you well and enjoy the St Patrick celebrations. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi mike
Have you got a theory test cd. My daughter had one when she was learning to drive and i also used to test her. (6 yrs ago now how time flies)
DD i am sure you would pass it is common sense....on the cd i got for lisa i passed so i am sure you would.
hope your test comes through quickly mike and good luck.

One problem is that you may be ready to apply for the road test but haven't taken the theory test which could leave you waiting. You must pass the theory test before you can even apply for a road test, so the sooner you take the theory the better, as sometimes there is a queue for places.
Beware some of the free practice tests online can be a lead into charging you. You take the 'free' test and then they ask you to pay to see your results, knowing that you are very likely to pay to find out how you have done. Take it as just a practice and don't pay up.
If you fail the theory test then you can retake it as many times as you like as long as there are 3 working days separating the tests. And if you have a deep enough wallet. Prepare by going to http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/LearnerAndNewDrivers/TheoryTest/DG_4022536 take their practice test (about halfway down the page) and then use the link near the bottom to book your test when you are ready. Bookmark that page and then use a link near the bottom to book your road test after you pass the theory, which will save you a lot of chasing around centres looking for vacancies. Don't forget to also sign up for cancellations, as these do occur and you can 'jump the queue'.Joseph0
