Hi Kat
Im so sorry all this is going on, I dont have any advice, but if you put a post in workings matters maybe someone will come up with something.
And dont forget, none of this is your fault, sometimes we can end up blaming ourselves when things go wrong.
Take care and I hope everything works out well for you.

Kat have you beeen on the working forum? Thing is iot's tha way it is these days - they HAVE to sort of seem to be really nasty. Are you part fo a big organisation? union etc. I only say as it has become such a challenge to get sickness benefits these days that you must see you get all you are entitled to at work before you go.
Please dont feel ashamed. You are not a skiver. maybe you can find a smaller wee job you actually CAN do or even some voluntary work>>

Sorry to hear about this. You dont derseve this because of your ill health.
Check out this website:
http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/DisabledPeople/Employmentsupport/YourEmploymentRights/DG_4001073
It might be able to help you.
If not you need to start registering for everything you can. Do you have a partner who works? Can they cope financially without your income? If you rent your home you can apply for housing benefit if you dont already, as well as Council Tax benefit. If you are on your own claim income support (also if you do have a partner with low income its worth trying for). If you want to get back to work try claiming Job Seekers allowance if nothing else. The link for the website above is the Direct Gov website and it will give you lots of information. I hope that you get some help with this,
I have been through the process of some of these so if you want to chat about anything I am here. If you want to talk to me directly then PM me and I will let you have my phone number.
Here for you hunJaki0 -

Sorry to hear about this Cathy, Think you need to get yourself some advice asap are you in a union? Is there any chance of negotiations for fewer hours or have you already been down that route?
Try not to let it get you down, your health is more important.

Always remember when you are not working, you do something else.
Take it as a time of reviewing your path through life and decide what you will work at next. Are there any free training courses to bring skills up to date that you can take.
Getting your CV sorted, printed and distributed to likely employers is always something to do that can get you back into work.Joseph0 -
I am pressing the like button for living legends post. However money problems are hard to ignore so find out what help you are entitled to first.

So sorry to hear of this.
Get in touch with DWP and get the benefits ball rolling meantime.
If you believe you ARE still able to work then use your time to set new goals for yourself, get cv in order and start applying.
If you think you are not really able to work just now then use this time to focus upon YOU and your health to try to get the illness under control.
And, think of something you have wanted to do but didn't have the time 'cos you were working and go and do it!
Keep positive and good luck.

A lot of us have got a T-shirt for this, at the end of the day there really is no way to stop losing your job, I railed against it for a long time and in the end decided that it was for the best but the income is sorely missed.
CAB or union, you need advice quickly, our welfare department was useless and was trying to make sure that the firm did the thing correctly so they didn't have any problems, nothing to do with looking after me. Get independent advice!
The ego needs some help during this period, being pushed out into the cold cold world of unemployment is not for the fainthearted, it sets you aside from others and it does get to you. Allowing for arther, you need to keep doing the things you have always enjoyed even if in a lesser form and do find new time filling activities. Free time is not a good thing with arther around.
