    Hi Florence
Well done, it's daunting at first, but the hangover effect is really not so bad a couple of weeks down the line.

    Hi, well done!!

It is daunting but will help you in the long run!

I am on week 13 and have gone from 10mg to 20 mg, starting on 25mg next week!

Tip for you...I was hit with fatigue when it went up to 20mg but rheumy nurse failed to tell me that you can take more folic acid....I take three tablets, one each day of my choice but not on the day I take mtx after enquiring about fatigue.

    Hi Florence500
Hope all goes well with your metho.I've been on 12.5mg weekly for several years and has given great control of my RA.To date have had no side effects and my bloods (done every 4-5 weeks) have all come back normal.
Let's hope it goes the same for you.

    Hi Florence,

Ive been on Methotrexate since September, and my dosage has just been increased to 20mg, I remember how I was on my first day... I had been really scared, but now Im use to it, the biggest side affect I get is fatigue.

    Take Care

    Hello

    Good luck with methotrexate.

    I'm on it too.

Remember that it sometimes can take quite a few months to kick in and start working - if it is going to work so be patient.

As with all meds, do not sit and fret that you are going to experience every side effect possible! Think positive that it is going to work and with few if not zero side effects. Don't look for the negative.

Personally, some weeks I have no side effects and sometimes I feel a bit sicky and tired.

    Keep us posted.

Welcome to the club ;) Well done, I know the first time is kinda scary :???:

Hope your hangover feeling wears off soon, I only had that the first couple of weeks, now all fine - just the odd bit of sleepiness as previous peeps have mentioned x

    Day 4 -

I am feeling great, took my Folic Acid yesterday as prescribed and everything is good, hangover feeling only lasted Saturday morning.

Actually feel better in myself, not sure if it is a placebo affect but my joints are less painful and I feel less stressed, Dr said it would take a couple of months before I see any changes but drugs do behave strangely with me so you never know.

Go to the GP tomorrow for my blood tests to check that no damage is being done and that I am ok to take my next dose on Friday.

Fingers crossed it will be like this all the time

    Week 2

Bloods were fine last week so round two of Meth, occasional feelings of nausea and sudden tiredness but all in all side effects not too bad.

However, my appetite has kicked in, I always seem to be hungry which is all I need, anyone else have this problem?

Well done, glad to hear it's going ok.

I'm going to be starting it too soon, on top of my sulfasalazine. Given my problems with that, I'm apprehensive.

Still to put my prescription into the doctor, and get my chest x-ray prior to starting too.

    Wish me luck!

I don't think I've to get a weekly blood test, is that usual? I've made an appointment for a fortnight's time as I'll start it tomorrow unless I hear otherwise.

    Glad you're ok. And thanks.

    Hi Florence and Donna

When I re-started meth just over 6 months ago, I had fortnightly blood tests for first three months and monthly thereafter. I think that's pretty standard.

Good luck with your meth doses both!
