Having referred myself for an Ocupational Therapy Assessment, i received a letter stating that i am on the waiting list but can expect a long wait. Here in Hampshire they are just dealing with referrals from September 2010.

Good news is that i have received my first payment of ESA, pre assessment payment.

Just posted off DLA forms today to see i they will award me the Mobility componant.

Heres completely cross eyed with filling in forms,

His of Hythe. LOL to all

    Hi Hils
These waiting list are suppose to be getting shorter, that's a laugh, I am sorry you are going to have a long wait.
But the ESA is good news, and everything crossed you get your DLA, good luck with everything, and let us know how it goes.

    Hi Hils

Well done for getting the ESA!!! Was that FIRST go?!! If so extra well done.

As for teh OT - there is such a high demand for OT assessments these days just so people can stay in their own homes and not have to think about residential (thinking of older people here too) as most of the local authority homes have closed.

I wonder if it's worth asking for a cancellation if one should come up?? Also you may be able to get your GP to support your case?

    Love

Hello, Sorry about the long wait. Luckily here we have small country medical centres that have their own OT, pysio, etc and the wait hasn't been too long so far. Don't know if things will change if they change the way things are run though.

On the bright side, I was told it would be a long wait, then I had a phone call from the centre a few weeks after referral and managed to get cancellation, as I could go the next day! It might be worth mentioning that you can go at short notice, if that is possible for you. It can speed things along. Good luck.
