I have just wrote this out and i wiped it all off by accident so second time lucky
Preparations for race for life.
Been told to increase exercise to prepare for walk.
Problem.
Loads of pain on and after increased walks.
Pain.
All over body and a pain in lower back and rump
raised concerns over taking part in case i lose my benefit for taking part from in laws and hubby they are :???: and worryed no icon for that
I was    and :x
Hubby is worryed over extra pain. not told in laws
What i did
spoke to doctor.
He said he said people can get more pain if they increase exercise and said i was to judge myself if too much he cannot advise on that. But give extra exercise a try, do what i can.
He was pleased i was preparing for event and would recommend it. and is very very pleased i am taking part and shook my hand
He and i had discussion on benefit and other peoples concerns he said if i take it easy ie rest while walking gentle pace he saw no problem he is adding to notes to cover in case of come back he is proud of me and said go for it also i will need pain meds
He has reduced my depression meds and i will only have to take em for a month and i can stop :P
what do you think bye joanne

well done for giving this a go, it is a fun day and you can take as long as you need, you could a walking aid i.e a stick which has a seat on it so you can rest regularly. or if you want to be less obvious a few of you could do the mad hatters tea party trick (used this a few times)
if you are doing this with a friend try and get a willing helper who can take a couple of folding chairs and and follow you along, you but carry a cup and saucer and every so often stop, take a seat and pretend to drink tea then plod on a bit more. if you do one of you as the mad hatter (you only need a hat and a sign on it saying mad hatter and the other has a blond wig with an alice band and carries a toy rabbit people will think nothing of you stopping and resting on chairs. also if there was a problem benifit wise you can honestly say you were unable to do the whole lot without resting so taking some of the worry away and the pressure of the joints.
Have fun its a great day and take your time.
p.s ive also seen this tactic done as a teddy bears picnic if its easier.0 -
