I hope it goes well for you, Barbara, and you get some answers.

A word of caution - if your OH comes back with a load of DIY drills, saws etc, and a gung ho 'Let's get it sorted now' attitude, on no account fall asleep in his presence.

    Be thinking of you.

    Hi Barbara,
I do hope you got some answers today and you are now back home with a cuppa and managing to rest up.
I have everything crossed that the results are quick to come through.
Wishing you a better nights rest tonight and hopefully some extra TLC is coming your way.

Hi and thankyou to Stickywicket, DD, Elaine and Sol, Lynn, Tony, Joan and Val.
How strange it was, there was 4 large I mean very white mobile units, all connected with a walk way, like the ones you get when you board an aircraft.
I was only in 3 mins when they shouted me, the consultant asked me to get on the bed, without help may I add, but I got there, then he stuck things im my foot and leg to see were it was numb, and then he tried to bend my leg towards me.....very painful.
Anyway they have given me an appointment for 2 weeks to have a scan, I expected to wait much longer.
I asked about my hip, but he didnt want to know, he said that the scan would just show what was wrong with my back.
So there you go...Lynn I did get some spring bulbs..Tony sorry forgot your panels
So if any of you are referred to care uk, you know what its all about.
    Thankyou again everyone

Bet you're glad it's all over, Barbara. Well done! Hope the results indicate some not-particularly-painful treatment is required.

Sorry barbara that I am late seeing this. I am glad you were not waiting too long (3mins wow not enough time for hubby to get inside the store  )
Hope you are not waiting too long for your scan, lets hope they are right and you have it in two weeks.
    Take care

I have only just seen this. Thats brilliant that you only have to wait 2 weeks for a scan. How long till you get the results?? It seems so silly they don't seem interested in your hip as it is all connected and one will undoubtedly aggravate the other!!

    Hi Barbara
I am glad that you were seen so quickly and that your scan will be soon, seems silly not to scan your hip at the same time. Lets hope that you get answers quickly so they can sort out meds and other treatment
    Good luck

    Hello Barbara,
That was a strange appointment. I do hate it when they rush things and don't want to talk or answer questions. At least you will get a scan done soon.

Just want to say a big thankyou to Stickywicket, Julie, Suzygirl, Cath, and Chris
I cant see why these consultants dont work together, the results will go to my GP but not where i will be having my hip done.
I feel like I am going round in circles, but if they can stopped this sciatic pain then I will be a happy bunny.
I hadnt even heard of care uk , but it goes to show that there are ways of fast tracking people.
    Thankyou again
    Love

Sorry Elizabeth you sneaked in there, I found it strange going on a Sunday, but to be honest if they can stopped this pain I dont care, the receptionist and nurse where lovely.

    Hey Barbara

Sounds quite surreal walking about in big mobile units but sounds good service too.....I would have thought they would scan your hip too as well as back but at least thats not too far away, 2 weeks......
Have to say never heard of care UK but dont matter if they are doing the business....
Hope you can relax a bit tonight...Different way to spend sunday lunchtime huh??

I think you were there about your back, yes? That is probably why they didn't look at anything else: 'If it says THIS on the bit of paper that came with you then THAT is what we will look at, Madam, and nothing else' would seem to be the prevailing attitude wherever one goes, one is certainly not viewed as a complete entity!

At least they were prompt - no waiting for hours as in an NHS clinic - that was good! Let us know how you get on with the scan - two weeks is no time at all - will that be at Homebase or Wicks? (I have heard that Wicks scans are better for the patient but the docs get a bit fed up with the word Wicks all over their transparencies.) DD

    Hi Barbara

    Glad that's over for you..
not long to wait for the results and then you should know what you are up against.

Sorry to hear that they didn't help you get on the machine... clearly they have never had back or hip problems themselves or they would have realised how painful that was for you !!! (I had the same experience when having a hip x-ray 18 months ago.)

    Take care
