Crunch time tomorrow

Hi all, I have my first milestone appointment with the surgeon tomorrow. 6 weeks since my op and time for the first x-rays to see how the fusion is coming along. If all goes well and he is happy, I should be getting a full weight bearing plaster.

Gosh Rob that has gone quick...not for you I suppose, but I remember the days before you were due to go in hospital, you really have done well
I have everything crossed that the consultant is please with the xrays...and then there will be know stopping you

Hi Rob.
good luck with your appointment you have worked hard to get your foot strong i hope you have the plaster changed.
i'm having my ancle broken and put straight( a horse stood on it when i was younger)and three fusions in my foot and my big toe put up straight and it will be in plaster for 12 weeks and i wont be able to walk on it.

Hi Rob,
if its like breaks and plating once you have the full weight plaster on you will find it so much easier.

Great, really pleased for you, at least you'll be able to move around a little more freely. Glad the appt went well, I'm in my cast till 13th May :sad:!

That is good news. Are you sporting the new cast now? How does it feel bearing full weight? DONT over do it!!
SpeedyI have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.0 -
