hope it all goes well I've lost count of the scans I've had due to SMA and other back problems to me it sounds like a building site i do get ahead ache coming out of there maybe the noise or the tight thing round your head and the ear phones press hard against my ears so they ache and are red as well, I dont like confined spaces and also cannot lie on a flat hard surface due to my lower back problems, so although I know i need them I dont look forward to them but just keep my eyes closed with the buzzer held tightly in my hand ready to squeeze but i find controlled breathing helps as well, you've probably come out thinking what was all the worry but you needed it for a reason and you will know for next time, incidently I was told after the scan rsults were back that my lower back was a bit of a mess lol and had white patches in my brain which was normalish for my age, anyway hope alls well and you get your results soon michelle x0

Well I survived it....tho I did get a nurse that was very unhelpful....I struggled to get on the bed....no hand offered or help
But It wasnt has bad as I thought, the worse part was when I first went in the tunnel...so like you all said I just closed my eyes.
I was in twenty mins....so now the waiting game

Well done Barbara, the first go at these things is not that easy and I reckon you did OK. They are noisy, aren't they? I SAID, THEY ARE NOISY, AREN'T THEY? I expect you are tired now - I hope you have a good night with some decent sleep. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Thanks Chris Julie and DD
It was not half has bad as I thought, wonder if it has cured me of the claustrophobia thingy.
The staff wernt very nice, I do really struggle getting on high beds, so the nurse gave me.... well throw a stool on the floor, my OH was fuming...
but it was 4.30 so they might have been tired..

Hi Barbara,
Sorry I'm just posting now.....glad it seemed to go well.....they are so noisy...The first time I had ear defenders with no music {just to TRY and keep the racket out} didnt work LOL 2nd time I had music.
My second one was in a portable caravan thing in the grounds of thehospital so wasnt very big. I was enclosed in this little space taking my bra off and trying to put my blouse back on again...I had left it hanging round my neck....bra in one hand it wasnt easy so what did I do???? dropped the bra on the bed until I got my blouse one. Whoooooosssssshhhhhh....the bra disappeared up the table and through the hole....very technical description ....I opened the door and said "My bra has gone"...gone where says the nurse...in there I said and pointed.....she went to a cupboard door and I wondered what she was doing....go a brush out, came in stuck the brush in and "hoiked" the bra out I thought it will give me something to laugh about when I'm stuck in there.....then I thought no better not....you are supposed to be as still as possible and I didnt want to have to do it again..Oh well thats my story about it....Glad its over with for you and I'm sure you are in bed now
Love

Morning Barbara.
You DID IT Really well done for managing, despite the stroppy nurse
Hope you don't have to wait too long for the results.

I remember the nurses getting grumpy with me because my left knee was far too fat to fit into the holder that had to go around it. In the end they crammed it in, it took two of them. Wasn't fun.
I hope you are feeling OK today Barbara, and not too sore - lying so still can set things off. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Hi Barbara.

Hi Barbara,
Glad it’s over for you, fingers crossed you get your results soon. Hopefully things will start to come together for you.
Sorry about the unhelpful staff, you would have thought they would automatically be there to assist people.
Gentle hugs,
Lv, Ix0 -
Hi Hileena, Tillytop, DD, Joan and a big thankyou
hillena...I remembered you mentioning your bra , so I didnt put one on... but you are right about the unit being small...I was claustrophobic before I got in the machine..
Tiily Im quite proud of myself not pressing that buzzer...
DD the nurse was awful...I managed to get on the bed....then she yanked my legs up to put the cushion under my knees.....might be the same nurse
Joan they didnt say what was next, so I will phone my gp in a week
Thankyou again everyone
Love
Barbara xxLove
