Hi

Im probably being harsh on myself but bit fed up today.....

Slept in a bit as was tired and got up had brekkie then shower.....As you may or may not know ive been dieting since december 2010....Now having always never been skinny ive had sort of skin irritations related to that occasionally.....(thats what amazes me on these biggest loser programmes how these people can exercise just like that and they dont ever mention the skin irrations on there).....Mine has been on and off for last few weeks and have seen doc who has told me to put on a mild steriod and im very careful with my shower gels, etc. I also get really small spots along inner thigh which can be sore...This in turn has now made my skin very dry and flaky but as i also have an auto immune diease im limited to what i can use (find things such as dove irritates my skin when it claims to be ultra sensititve)....I know this will sound minor things but today this is just making me feel quite ugly n useless...Im trying to help my body, why doesnt it recognise that?

Sorry for having a whinge.....

    Hi Elaine

So sorry to hear you are having a bum day but good that you came on here to let out your frustration.

Try to take positivity out of the fact that you are taking control of your body and that to feel the fab up feeling of great days we need to have a bummer of a day poking us to remember to smile the next day when all improves ..... thats what I tell myself anyway!

You are doing well Elaine and I doff my cap to you.

I bet now you have posted that today is feeling a little better already?

Sorry you are feeling down Elaine. One of my sons has eczema and is prescribed bath and cream products and even this isn't brilliant. I have Dove products and they smell like there is a lot of perfume added. would sudocream work as that is a a faithful in this house?
I just want to say you are a lovely, fun person and I am so glad you are part of this forum.

    Hi Elaine
Im sorry you are feeling down, I know what you mean , I am not looking forward to the really hot weather , I know there is a spray you can get for the inner thighs, its stops them rubbing and keeps these little spots at bay.
, my brain has stopped working.
I will be back with name when it comes to me

    Hi Elizabeth

Well i have idiopathic uriticaria and angioedema, even the name is horrid eh? It basically means i can get what look like sweat rashes but most of the time they are smooth to the touch and not itchy.....I do however mark very easy, even if i carry a plastic bag the marks on my hands stay for hours, same too if lean against something, identation marks last really long.....I know im not as fat as some people but i dont understand why my body develops new ways to irritate me...Last year i went through a stage of couldnt bear a bra near me and didnt once get sweaty ***s then, even though they felt awful!!!

Thanks for saying that about me...I try now to keep upbeat just get disappinted in myself every now and then......I think im a kind of marmite person, you either like me or you dont...I dont suffer fools or anyone who makes a mug of me at all....Just me!!

Hi, I'm sorry you feel down today and its understandable if you get skin irritations, they make me feel irritable! I had some sore patches under my breasts and armpits, so I use Simple products now, and put on some anti inflamitory cream, and anti fungle cream and its clamed it down a lot. When I saw my GP, she said she could prescribe them both together in the same tube and gave me one to keep incase it comes back.

Hope things seem better tomorrow! Love Sue

    Hi Elaine

You having a better day today?

Just a quick thought. I know that you are watching what you are eating just now. 'Cos of my illness (lupus and arthritis) a few months ago I embarked upon an eating healthy campaign as I needed to lose weight and more importantly was trying to see if food was a factor in my illness.

So, initially I cut out red meat, wheat, dairy and nightshades eg peppers, tomotoes etc. After a couple of months I started eating some of this stuff again - red meat once a week. I eat spelt bread and have goat's milk. I bought a lovely glass jug (to make it feel a bit special!) and chuck in lots of ice, mint leaves, ginger, slices of lemon and lime and keep it in the fridge. Whenever I feel an urge to eat something naughty I pour a glass of this in a fancy cocktail glass I have and although it sounds like I am nuts, it feels like I am treating myself - it just does!

When I wake up in the morning I always have a glass of hot water with lemon and ginger in it and it feels so refreshing that I don't usually crave a bit of toast in the morning as I feel that I am starting the day so healthy!

The above sounds loopy re-reading it however it works for me and keeps me away from the foods that I don'tthink agree with me and also I am healthier with all the cleansing water!

    Have a great day today.

    Hi Carol

No no better today, despite putting on dressing gown at 8.30pm and letting the air get there, cold compresses followed by patting dry my skin now look horrid....It looks very red but isnt too itchy, i did however move away from the central heating last night (think we need to reset our heating to be cooler now).......I feel really ultra yuki today as have a tissue folded up in an aim to keep area drier...Nice eh? Had terrible nights sleep, saw every hour going, lots on my mind....Had a minor disagreement with my ex via text about me signing up tp facebook....I am going to see a doctor tomorrow as ive had this since beginning of march on and off...Its not my own doc but i want to see someone...

Now then re diet....I am an IBS sufferer and cut out dairy products, have soya alternatives....Got soya yogurt with fruit in fridge, I only have one slice of white bread a day (brown makes me worse) and you know ive found that since being on more fruit and veg its not made my IBS better, ive been "bunged up more"...Lovely huh???I dont eat red meat a lot, this week ive had a low fat quiche and tonight im having a baked potato with pasta salad...I do eat a fresh egg every second day as i love boiled eggs...and even though im cutting back i still have a small aldi dark choc/mint bar maybe twice a week, i eat unsalted nuts with raisins/sultanas if i want to before tea....I do like my veggies so couldnt really cut out peppers/tomatoes but having said that i only eat them in meals chopped up maybe twice a week anyhow.....I have lots of baby carots in the fridge too....

I just want to concentrate on my diet, not have horrible intertrigo.......I feel so dirty...

You poor girl. I can only begin to imagine how much this will be driving you around the bend. I hope the gp comes up with something. Sometimes it can be a good thing seeing another gp and not your own as they have different experiences.

Aye, I've read that with IBS it can be very easy to overload your system with fibre therefore even one slice of wholemeal can set you off. Also, you mentioned fruit, yep fruit is not necessarily a benefit. My digestive system cannot tolerate fruit. To put it politely - I have to run to the loo. Also, not to eat fruit AFTER a meal as because fruit takes much less time to digest than other food it will just sit on top of your meal and ferment. Like you, I used to love all things soya however read that it can be quite common for lupus sufferers to disagree with body so stay off it now.
The more I read and the more I experience myself the more I begin to agree with the dudes that say we should just eat beans, pulses and raw wholefoods however I do not have the imagination to just live on that to make things taste nice!

    Hi Carol

Well its more its hampering me and at night it seems to get a bit itchy and uncomfortable, plus putting the canesten hc on it is making the skin very dry and flaky....You know what ive just thought of as well, it can occur overnight, i mean i can get up in the morning and feel my skin is hot and when i shower the red areas start to appear, sometimes its just small blothces other times its full blown like this just now...weird? Id just like to take a pill or have a cream that can keep it at bay and its not as if ive changed my underwear so it cant be that surely? Its just that its been two nice days, i could have gone for wallks but cos ive got this blasted rash i dont want to aggravate it further so im only going to supermarket, short trips etc...This is hampering my exercise routine...
I cant eat brown bread at all, used to have honey nut shredded wheat but that did me in by lunchtime....Someone else i know is opposite has to eat brown bread...And if i cant have fruit after a meal at night well its not a diet its a starvation! Ive gotten used to soya products, have tried rice and oat milk ....URGH!!!!! I find goats milk a bit too rich n strong, but its down to the individual huh?
As for pulses, raw wholefoods well yes can be dull and also very expensive too....
Anyway here's hoping doctor can give me something to help..........Im off to my hydrotherapy pool tonight, always enjoy that...
