    Hi Zec

Isn't the weather glorious. I do hope it lasts for the weekend, for those that are working all week.

Oh dear  your cholesterol result is rather high. Sounds like lots of boring salads for a time.

Oh no Zec, what a pain. Salads aren't all bad and there are other cholesterol-busting things to eat as well. Dunno what they are tho. If you can get it down it is a good thing to do for the sake of your overall health so good luck with it, I hope you succeed. DD

Perhaps sucking seeds would help! Aren't pumpkin seeds good for reducing cholesterol? Mixed into a low fat yoghurt makes for a pleasant snack.

oh dear zac ...sounds quite high, but i am not sure what a normal level is. I have never been tested. I hope with eating salads it works for you. Did you not get any advice? I know they do margarine spreads and youghuts but the price is sky high.....gloria hunniford used to advertise them but didnt tell you they were expensive.

hope you are enjoying the sun.

    take care

    Hi Zec

Eat garlic. Cooked or raw garlic help lower your liver's production of cholesterol.

Also eat raw onion, salmon, olive oil, almonds, walnuts and avocados (they are all high in fat, but most of it is monounsaturated fat which helps to improve cholesterol).

Makes salads more interesting  So do red and green peppers cantaloupe, sunflower seeds, walnuts, strawberries, papaya, almonds, peanuts, (not ready salted!) oranges, grapefruit juice, wheatgerm soybeans, broccoli, brussel sprouts  wheatgerm oil and soybean oil all food in lowering cholesterol.

I have had high cholesterol for the last 25 years, usually 7.4. I went away to France a few years back, came back had a test and it was 5.2, so, eat lots of moule n frits, cakes every morning, lots of coffee and keep smiling!

Incidentally, before you think I have a bad diet, it is very very good, no pastry etc etc, I just have high cholesterol, the bad one not the good one!

    8) Its a grin, honest!
