Hi all,
Sorry for this but could anyone free be ready to jump into my pocket today? Saw physio this morning and she's not happy with my thumb due to the wrist break 4 wks ago. I'm at a&e fracture clinic now, had X-ray and they are going to re set the wrist :???: I'm bit upset.
Sorry if this is bit muddled, it's come out of the blue, only yesterday I was saying how much Humira has helped and it has truly, this is just a setback.
Thanks everyone xxx

    Hi Cris,
Just out of ortho, he had to re break  I've been given pain relief and am off home soon, just waiting for meds from pharmacy. Thanks Cris, it helped knowing you were there, I was quite scared, scaphoid is a 'problem break' whatever that is, am very worried the bad pain will come back tonight :???:
Thanks am off home to bed now Xxx

Sorry Poppy i missed this. It must have been a worry for you to be told they were going to rebreak it and not a very pleasant thing to have to deal with. I do hope the pain will not return in force.
It is okay to have a bad day Poppy. In any case It is a different issue from the humira.

    Hi Elizabeth and Tilly,
I really appreciate your hugs and kind words. I'm ashamed to say I completely panicked today, I thought I was just having the hot wax treatment but when my physio saw my hand and the fact I couldn't bend my thumb she sent me straight back to Hillingdon fracture clinic. Then it all happened so fast and I did have a wobble when they said it would need to be reset. I asked for pain relief which they gave me and i have to say it worked because although it looked and sounded dreadful i didnt feel it, and with the tramadol + paracetamol tonight im not too bad. The cast is much sturdier and a rather fetching purple colour
Thanks again for being there, it was traumatic and I've needed to just get it all out off my chest so to speak!
Hugs and hugs to you both Xxx

    Hi Cris, Julie and ratface,
Thanks for your support, really appreciate your kindness, the wrist was not too bad last night, but is a bit sore and throbbing today. I'm SO grateful it's Easter hols and my boys are home with me as I'm not up to much at moment  eldest has made me a cuppa and brought me my pain meds so off for a lie down soon.
I know this is just a temporary setback, I will heal and the Humira will continue to improve arthur  that's the plan anyway

    Hi Tracey,
Thanks for your support, it was scary at the time but I think the thumb looks a bit better now, not at an odd angle. Since they re broke the wrist it has been very achy and im back on the tramadol. To be honest I'm totally and utterly fed up  I've been in a cast since 10th march and it won't come off till 13th may  nevermind it's just me having a moan, I'll be ok I just get fed up with the ache in the wrist.
Hope everyone has a good painfree weekend xxx

Poor you Poppy. How are you managing with doing the injections with the wrist in cast. i mean you need both hands really with those injections .Sorry you have had so much to deal with all at once, it can't be easy.

    Best wishes

    Hi Poppy,

Well I think your entitled to moan flower, sometime life brings in garbage with a tanker and sometimes a fleet of artics!

Leaving you a ((((( ))))) ad a hope its eased again for you? Glad to hear the thumb looks better, shame they didn't listen to you in the beginning but in fairness as Cath says it is a bad one to heal. It will though flower so hang in there. ((((( ))))) and a cuppa Cris xx

    Hi Elizabeth, Cath and Cris,
Thanks for your lovely messages, I do get a lift when I read such supportive and kind words. Been a bit low for couple of days, fed up with wrist and now have a chest infection  I spoke to nurse brown (Rheumy nurse)on Friday and she told me to stay off the methotrexate I was due to take it that day but had a bit of a cough and sore throat. Today I slept till 1pm  coughed all night and felt rough when I woke up, a very good friend rang me and I could hardly talk to her for coughing :???: so this afternoon I rang out of hours dr and was given anti biotics AGAIN only just off them thanks to the ear infection 2 wks ago.
Oh well, it'll get better
Elizabeth, I had the healthcare at home nurse round to do the injection last time and I did it in my leg one handed :???: I've to speak to nurse brown tomorrow to decide if I take this weeks Humira, if I do I'll get OH to do it in tummy, leg really hurt.
Cath, thanks for your know how re scaphoid, it's an awkward beggar  hopefully healing ok now.
Cris, as usual you give me so much help and good advice, promise once the mri's done we'll decorate the cast so that you could see it from space he he  love to you all and lots of hugs xxx

    Hi Poppy,
Oh I am so sorry to hear things are going from bad to worse for you. I hope the anti-biotic kick in quickly for you and you manage to get some much need sleep.
I am frustrated for you flower, fingers crossed that you will be able to take the Humira but all you can do is see what the experts say. No wonder you feel down with the constant ache from your wrist.
    Hugs,
