I just thought that id post.
I started the pain management programme, i started with a later group not the one on the induction day who to be frank made me feel really depressed afterwards and so was in two minds whether or not to go to this one but i did and im glad as there so much different, tease me something chronic though lol.
Also ive had a really bad few months with pain and so the pain consultant has put me on pregablin i was wondering about anyone's experiences on it ?
And finally i had my second op with the new rheumatologist all i can say is shes such a polar opposite to my old one. She agreed that the fibromyalgia type symptoms are having an impact along side my psoratic arthritis. She said to come off the tacrolimus as its obviously not working. Also ordered a bunch of tests to check how everything is including my chest. Shes thinking of putting me on leafludomide but i said that my dermatologist wanted to put me on anti tnf treatment so she said i might be switching to that.
She asked if i wanted to stay with her or just have a second opinion i literally bit her hand off and said yes. All i can say .......SO DIFFERENT

Hi Magic
So good to read an upbeat post from you. I am happy for you and pleased that you did go to the next pain clinic session. What a gem of a rheumi you have found. I am sorry I cannot help you with the meds as I have never taken them but I wanted to say thank you for sharing your good news with us. Please do keep in touch.

Hi Magic
Glad to read that you now have a rhummy nurse that you like , It sounds as though she is trying her best for you. I hope when the blood tests come back you can decide which med to take and that it has good result for you.
Will cross my fingers
Take care

Hi Magic
What a lovely post, Im so glad you have got a good rheumy, and that you are getting there with the pain management.
Has for the pregabalin, I am on the older drug gagapentin, it really has help me with nerve pain coming from my back, I felt strange on it at he beginning but you do get used to it.
Good Luck with everything

Hi Magic
l am so very pleased for you!!
a good rheumatologist??!! l am shocked but really thrilled now you sound like you have a plan which you need to have don't you? and she sounds to be checking you out thoroughly as well. as it should be!
There's a fair few on here on pregablin as well - might be worth doing a 'search' on here for it. I tried gabapentin and it did nothing for me but is helping someone else on here no end.
Love

Thanks for the kind words guys and sorry for the delay havn't been feeling great.
With my old rheumatologist she was very patronising and with her treatment i allways knew she wasnt doing all she could so i knew i needed to see someone else. Also she would never talk to any of my other consultants.
I think the lessen is if you think there is something deeply wrong, that there not doing there best for you to get a second opinion if you can.
Also weirdly the appiontments are alot quicker im seeing the rheumy nurse in two wks
