Hi all,
I was at docs last night. Ive been signed off for 3 months this time. I was hopefull she would say i could go back but no. We spoke about lots of things and after discussing it with her i have bought a treadmill! I used to love walking but dont go out now as im too unstable to go by myself. I never know when i will have to stop either so thats always in my mind, but a treadmill takes the worry out of walking. Im hoping to build up slowly my leg muscles and to lose a bit more weight. Im excited to be giving it a go but am very deflated about what the future holds for me.
Hope you are all keeping as well as you can,
ive been too low to come on line for the past week or so but am now getting a bit better.

    Oh Seamonkey
Sorry to hear you are signed off again and I have missed seeing you around the site. The treadmill sounds like a great idea to get you on the move without the risks of being out and about. Hope you enjoy it and hope it does its job for you!

oh dear seamonkey I am sorry you are not able to return to work .

The treadmill sounds a good idea, I hope it really does help with your mobility......I suppose you will have to start slow and work up.
    Don't over do it though.
Keep us informed of your progress
    Good luck

    Hi Seamonkey
The treadmill does sound a good idea....I was referred to the gym by the doc and the treadmill is one of the things I have to use 10 mins on it {other machines as well} Go easy to start with

    Hi Seamonkey

I am sorry that you have been feeling low but my goodness what a positive thing to do - purchase of a treadmill. I am sure it will help you to build up leg muscles and as you say, lose weight too. Also very wise to discuss it with your gp first. I wish you well with that. Please let us know how you go on.

    Love

    Hi Seamonkey

Didnt see this yesterday sorry, but think it is a really good idea....we have one here in our garage and it has a bit of 'bounce' in it so you dont pound down and also it has no potholes on it so you dont jar your back.

    Good luck

    Love

No car in our garage either. I am allowed space enough for the tumbledrier   and the rest is jammed solid with tools, lathes, anything to do with DIY is in there - and just enough space for his motorbike that has to be put outside when hubby is working in there. My push bike was chucked out long ago and lives in the greenhouse, another place not entirely used for the purpose it is meant. Even when jampacked with tomato plants my bike lives there when not in use

Don't have a garage but do have a cellar.By definition is the lowest point in the house and consequently all the junk seems to gravitate there. :x

Hi Seamonkey, I'm sorry the doc has signed you off, but it must be what you need. You need to rest your body.

The treadmill sounds a great idea and is something to focus on. Please start really slowly and gradually ... if you over do it, it will set you back even further. (I know because I did this on an exercise bike a couple of year ago - felt great when I was doing it - I really paid for it and had to rest for several weeks!!) Literally start for a couple of minutes only.
