also we are at the hospital on wednesday so any tips as to what to ask them about enbrel would be great

    Hi KMR

oh your poor daughter - good job you will be going with her to her appointment.

She must ask them for some splints for her finger(s) bless her l bet she is really scared. A lot on here have splints which can really support and pritect poorly joints like hers sounds to be.

I have no experience of enbrel myself, l only know it is an anti tnf,but like any new drug she should ask side effects and how quickly they would expect any results etc. Will she be able to inject herself and will she need any lessons to do so etc.

Good luck for wednesdya l hope all goes well

    love

enbrel has worked really well for a fair few, I am sure all will be fine today, I will be thinking of you both. I know that you have to do quite a few injections with enbrel and a tip for thigh injecting: do it with your legs out straight in front of you, sitting on a bed for example, this relaxes the thigh muscles and makes things a little less painful. If you do the jab sitting with your legs bent, or standing up, the muscles are tensed and it can make things a little more painful. It's a no-brainer really! (A rheumatology nurse told me this and it does make a difference). I wish you both well. DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

nurse was really good explained everything, all bloods came back ok , she had to fill a chart in that goes onto some computer that generates a score, she has to have this done twice before she knows if she is going on either enbrel or humira, so not really sure how we feel :?:

Hello, Just to wish your daughter good luck at her appointment. I hope all goes well and she can find something to suit her and make her feel a lot better. I do know that sometimes it takes a while for the best drug to be found.
