If you could all leave the pockets quietly and in an orderly fashion
Went to appointment this morning and saw the rheumy registrar and he has put me straight on Meth, plaquanil and a steroid injection.
They have repeated the bloods so I need to collect the Methotrexate tomorrow, cos the pharmacy wont give it without new blood results.
Registrar was lovely (and cute lol) and said that the diagnosis of RA was certainly correct and he was also Very surprised when I knew so much about RA, the drugs and the side effects.
I told him that it was thanks to you lovely lot and that I had been educated by you but not been given horror stories
All in all, a good day methinks

Good luck with it all, I hope it works for you, meth can be a very effective treatment for some and hopefully you will be in that camp. I wish you well. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi Geri
Good when you get a nice consultant and it is dealt with so efficiently isnt it l am really pleased for you that all seems to have gone smoothly.
Probably was very happy that you WERE so well-informed and not to stressed by the diagnosis and treatment.
You take care and l too hope you will do REALLY well on the MTX

Geri, i am glad you have a good rheumy and hope that the methotrexate helps you. the steriod injection should help it usually takes a couple of days to start working for me.

Well 4 days in and to quote James Brown "I feel good".
In fact for the first time in a year, I feel bloomin fantastic, thanks to the steroid injection the swelling has gone.
No side effects from the plaquenil or the scary meth, (hate the sun anyway) except tiredness, even though I have been sleeping better.
Pain has not quite gone away, but but is only a gentle, occaisional, reminder rather than constant agony.
I am aware that this could be short lived relief, but mentally I have perked up no end.
Today is a good day for me and I hope for everyone else
