Good morning everyone,

Just a quick question for all you wise people.

Deos anyone else get itchy finger tips, and I mean really itchy. It's on my right hand and it affects my little finger and the one next to it. It was just an itch at first but now my fingers are going numb.

At the same time this started (about 3 months ago) I noticed a strange burning sensation in my big toe when i put pressure on the underside of my toe ie as when you grip your flip flops. It feels like its been immersed in boiling water but only affects one toe and only on the underside.

These two things may or may not be related but they both started at the same time. Just wondered if anyone else had the same thing or any ideas.

Thanks Petals

    Hi Petals,

I have had and do get an itchy little finger, drives me mad sometimes. It can be itching for a few days then dissappear then you forget about it and then it will be back you remember that its the same itch as before ( if you get me) This has been happening now for prob 8 months and i have also had the itch on my thumb tip :???:  They havnt actually gone numb but i do suffer terribly with my hands

I was thinking of asking about it but forget and i am having trouble with finding a doc with a brain  It may be worth you mentioning it to your DR or rheumy.

Hope you find out soon i will be interested in your diagnoses.

    Take care

    Hi Roses,

Thank goodness i'm not alone, I thought I was turning into a hypocondriac lol

Yes that's exactly how mine started but now its more or less permanent. I will definately ask the doc about it, funnily enough I had appointment last week and did intend to mention it but had so many other problems to see him about I forgot all about the finger.

I was feeling very very tired recently so he gave me the once over and discovered I have developed a heart murmer. I'm not sure of what the consequenses are of this but it took the wind out of my sails a bit and I completely lost track of why I was there in the first place lol.

Anyway, if I find out what causes it I will certainly let you know.

    Hi Petals,

It can make you feel like a hypochondriac little signs and symptoms and you just dont know whether its something or nothing do you?
Theres so much going on with arthur and you cant remember everything to ask, We will have to get into the habit of taking a list, which infact i did last time but forgot to put the itch on it again

Sorry to hear you have something else to worry you (((( hugs)))) i dont know anything about heart murmers so cant help there.

no petals, you are not alone at all. I have peripheral neuropathy and pompholyx ( a form of exzema ) that itches like mad, do you get little white or clear tiny blisters or pin prick holes in your skin? I nursed for a long long time and had never heard of it when the Dr said, "oh, that's pompholyx". :?: It affects fingers, hands, feet - my hands look a 100 years old. Might be worth asking the Dr, also to keep them moisturised but try and avoid anything that is parrafin based or has lanolin in it, glycerin is best and the health shops sell good hand creams, that are not full of chemicals and perfume.
