Doctors appointment dont know why I bothered

Hi everyone, I have been to the Doctors today to ask for some help because i am having a horrible flare since stopping the Sulfa after a bad reaction. I told her i am not able to sleep , i cant walk because of the pain in my knee and my neck and arms are so painful i cant think straight.
She said thats a shame but it will soon be 9th May when i can see the Rhumey and try another med.

I struggled to get there at 8.30 which was really hard for me , my pain meds are'nt working at that time . My husband struggled to get the wheelchair in her office just to be told nothing no help at all.

I dont think they have any idea how much pain this horrible arther causes , I came out almost in tears , i was pleased my hubby was with me , he pushed me to the car quickly because he so I was near to tears.

So looks like i will have to wait and get on with it as usual. sorry for the rant , just fedup ...............jillyxx

Jilly that was very upsetting. I would have been upset too. The 9th of May is a long way off when in pain and to be told to wait until then is horrible.Not sure whether you could go and see somebody else bearing in mind all the effort involved but you need something to tide you over as you will just get worse.
Why are you off sulfasalazine? just wondering why they didn't replace it immediately.
sorry not much help but sure someone will come along with better advice.

Hi Elizebeth ,
I had a bad allergic reaction to the Sulfa , i came out in a rash and it lowered my white blood ceils, so i had to come off it and wait until my body got over it that was bad enough ,then last week i had my blood done and they where fine .
It seems to have started a flare off ,I hurt all over . They said i can try something else but with the holidays i will have to wait.
I have good pain killer but i cant take anti-inflamatorys by mouth i have cream but its not good at getting rid of the swelling. I am feeling sorry for myself , I will pull myself together , it wont last for ever I hope lol ....thanks for your help.............jillyx

Oh Jilly Im so sorry your appointment didnt go well, I look at this way it is not them in pain....so how they can say wait till the 9th may...sorry but I am fuming for you...
Can you not go to your walk in center....I have done this before now...and they have been brilliant.

Thanks Barbara , I need the hugs at the moment, My husband is going to be working away from home from friday so i am really hoping it gets a little better before then , it always happens when he works away, at least it is sunny I have been out in the garden letting the sun warm my joints ...............jillyx

Bless you l am 100% with Lynn (Collywobs) on this one try the rheumy nurse even if you never have phoned before.

You shouldn't need to suffer this much and also there are anti-inflams which do not upset your belly the Cox2s of which l have one as well.

Ideally ring today if hubby is away on friday.

Sounds horrific! No wonder people put things off & don't go to see their doctor when there are useless & unsympathetic GPs like this out there!

When I moved five years ago & joined a new practice it was the best thing I've ever done.

Hope you get something sorted out.

I was saddened to read your gp was not at all helpful and shoooed you away with no help whatsoever.
I hope you get intouch with the nurse and she can help.
9th may is a long way away when you are in so much pain.
