Hi everyone , I have inflamatory arthritis and I am having a flare at the moment and swelled all over , but I also have pain in my fingers and arms, they are numb all the time its in the first 2 fingers and my thumb, the pain goes up my arms .
I wondered if anyone else had this is it part of the flare or to do with Raynards syndrome which I have been told i have . It is very painful and stopping me sleeping ................jillyx

Hi Jilly.sorry to hear that you are having pain in your fingers and thumb and going up your arm. I think that you should make an appointment with your doctor and get it checked out.
I know that I get pain now in my thumb and middle finger but no numbness, and I get pain in my left arm but that is from my shoulder and top back.(doctor reckolns arthur) Hoping it will go away once my op is over. But you should get yourself checked out Jilly.

Hi, It could be Carpel Tunnel syndrome, especially if its waking you at night. I'd mention it to your doctor as it can be diagnosed and treated. This is just a guess on my part, but, I know that I had it and had a small op on my left hand, which has helped the numbness but not the arthritic pain. Love Suexx0

Hi Jilly,
I'm sorry to hear you're having more problems. You've not been having it good lately. I'm sorry for not replying to your posts but I'd been away from the site and not posting at all. Hope the pain doesn't get any worse for you. I thought if you had carpal tunnel then there were things they could do, like surgery? Hope you get some help soon,
Take care,

Hi Eileen , how are you , it does'nt sound like you are any better, this arther is a real pain . Yes it seems there is something they can do , but i hav'ent said about it because i thought it was rynards and had to put up will it , only just spoke to the GP about it . She always says if it carrys on we can send you to see someone. I always feel like she thinks i am moaning so you get feeling you wont tell her anymore .
