As well as the appointment for my THR appointment {12 months} I got a copy letter from the physio that does the acupuncture to my GP.
Basically it says loss of range of movement right hip,
loss of range of movement lumbar spine,
scoliosis in thoracic lumbar spine
Absent ankle jerk reflexes.
He also says I'm getting relief from the acupuncture but no long term benefit
I'm to ring him 3 to 4 months and he will do another session.
I will ring at the beginning of May and hope for an appointment mid may
That will be 3 months{I know its not 4 months but its worth a try}
Love
Hileena

There is absolutely no harm in ringing is there? If you don't ask you don't get, so I hope you are able to be seen by him sooner rather than later. Given that so much else is going on with your joints it's little wonder that there is no long-term benefit. How much of a difference has the acupuncture made to your pain? DD
Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben

    Hi Hileena,

Thanks for the update flower and I hope the next set of acupuncture will be a bit more lasting.

I still can't lie on my front so never did finish the course... the botox had a test out and the shoulder did fight back ... but ... it lost  Ell do i want some in my face

I got a back support and that helps too.. don't know if you would find one helpful though I am very aware that it will weaken the muscles... its juts I abuse mine so much and just now the lumber (L2 to be precise  ) is giving me so much grief.....

Hope it will all stay quiet and comfortable for you but wish they would help you a bit more in between. ((( ))) and have a good Easter. Cris xx

    Hi DD,
    You are right......no harm in asking.....in the North East the saying is "Shy bairns get no sweets" LOL :lol: The acupuncture made a lot of difference to my pain while I was having it but once it was stopped I was back to normal {whatever that is :lol: }
by the way.....its great to see you on line.
    Love

    Hi Cris,
I hadnt a clue about acupuncture before I had it and when the effect wasn't permanent I thought that was normal.......Is it actually supposed to "cure" the pain.....it certainly eased it while I was having it but like I said to DD once it was stopped the pain got worse again.
Have you not managed to talk them into doing botox on your face yet
And you couldnt manage to get your face in the way when your shoulder was being done????
Did you get your back supposrt from the OT or did you buy it? I would be interested in that......I would try not to use it too much....if I thought I could manage without it some of the time. I know it weakens your muscles....but so does using my scooter, or my stick.
I'm sorry you are having so many problems with your back......if you get time pm me and let me know about the back support please.
    Sending (((((((())))))))))) Love Hileena

    Hi Hileena,

Give me a min to find the catalog... the physio gave it me and yep I did buy it but it was only just 30 and I figured it might help with the shearing as that really does stuff me now a days... I normally feel sick and flake out it’s that bad a job......

I do put the shears down first....

Will pm it you cus there is a link for on line and its got a lot of useful stuff init.

this brace is a velcro wrap round thing but when I know I am going to bend... L2 doesn't like bending and tends to really kick me about before it takes out the legs... anyway it actually means I can't bend so freely

I have quite strong muscles and will keep them that way but the support does help at times.....

leaving you a ((((( ))))) and a hope you have a good Easter. Cris xx

    Morning hileena

Just want to say, I hope you get the appointment fairly quickly.
And you start to feel the benefit again. Its just a shame it isn't long lasting.

    Take care

    Hi Hileena,

Hey you have a good time and it will be there for you by Friday... I haven't found it yet but will by then.

Your right you mustn't rely on it . I use mind only when its really acting up or when I know I am going to annoy it.... I got it really for shearing cus that gets the lumber so badly and last weeks after ward. i kinda hoped it would stop it taking out the legs but it doesn't it does stop me bending as well which helps to stop me annoying it too much.....

You enjoy your self and leaving a (((( )))) and a good travel draft. Cris xx

Hileena, i have acupuncture about once every two months now ( i pay privately) i used to have it once a month but it got a bit expensive I have been having it for several years and find that it does help it is concentrated on my neck and shoulders (the OA bit) and i find for a couple of weeks i can move a bit better but it doesn't last for me
I just think that the relief even for a short while is better than no relief at all.

I hope you have a nice trip and that you get some more treatment.
