I had tonsillitis a few weeks ago and they had reduced my deppression tablets down a few days before. The depression came back i waited a week after the ill ness before returning to doctors. Any way to cut a long story short i have to stay on 10mg as the doctor who i saw said i should not have been taken off them in first place by the other doctor as it was too early for me. gutted  I was hopeing to see the end of it. I am doing the race for life in may and i would have celebrated this also. I have a throat infection today but im ok now back on meds been out in the garden looking forward to my sponsored walk.

    Hi Suncatcher,

So you've had tonsillitis and now a throat infection, you are going through it, glad your back on the old anti-deppresents though, If they are helping you that's good. I have taken them for many years now, don't think i will ever be able to come of off them now, but if they are doing the trick, what the hell. Lets hope you get over your throat infection quickly.

The chickens are laying well. My hubby and son have been building a chicken shed shed with a under cover roof for 3 days. Our girls are old now still laying but soon laying days will be over.
We go to the welsh show every year. I bought the ducks from there.
This year we are looking for four new girls to come and live in this deluxe new pad. with an up stairs bed room and egg box. Below a storage box for food. and Under neath is a run with cool rest box all under cover.
I have told hubby he must build our old girls a new pen. for now they are nosing in the new one as it is in the run they have always known. They think they are moving in to this one. I think feathers will be ruffled when they see who is moving in next door.
They have inspected the build and have had fun round the garden. I have been gardening and painting and sunbathing. One of the girls has got a bit of blue on their feathers. They have loved basking in the sun.
Have you had this brilliant weather hope so hope you well skeizier from joanne

Hi, Sorry you've had a rotten time, healthwise and with docs taking you off tablets you've had for ages. I take them and I thought that unless its a really sudden, very serious illness, like when I had emergency surgery for peritonitis, you must withdraw from them slowly, as you may suffer from a re-bound effect, ie get depressed!
Your chickens sound great, I'd like to keep some, but my husband pointed our that having 5 cats, it may not be a good idea! It must be nice to have fresh eggs. Love Suexxx

    Hi Joanne,

hey you can't hire you oh out can you? I have a sheep shed to build and have no energy...... I mean none as well

Mine said do you want lodgers in the nice new house... they would like one but not the run as they are free range and in a run the just seem to pace......

You going to have pedigree or hybrid new ones? I intercepted some batteries before they got to the battery.... they are brilliant and one has had that eye thing and lost one... she is odd and thinks i am her best friend..... its a strange one though i am often with them under feet she is especially clingy.....

The weather has been good but we have a bit of rain just now.... guess the grass needed it but hey sunbathing in April... not too often we get to do that eh?

I think it helps the bones..... not sure about the skin but mine i beyond help  Old and haggard is this years in look don;t you know

You go easy and hows the writing going? i started a love story.... hell where did that come from....

Anyway its getting there and will send it off cus its time I stopped being silly about sending things off.....

leaving you a ((((( ))))) and its so good to see you again. You keep in touch cus we worry when someone goes missing. Cris xx

    Hi skeizier
He would love nothing better. He has always had a farm in him since being brought up with his parents living on a farm rented by his grandfather. He moved out to a semi when 4 yrs but always had weekends and all holidays at his grans. I can get him to make anything like pens. He hates it in the house he is an out door man.
We like lots of eggs so the breeds we choose must be good for eggs. We have had black rock and warrens so far. I looked at some in eve sham. I love the polish with the strange hair do but Chris said they did not lay many eggs. He would love quails i will have to see what he gets. We are all going to the welsh it is a lovely day out. I will be looking for chicken memorabilia for in the garden or ducks. I have a collection in garden. door stops, welcome hangers, pot hangers, pots painted with chickens. I keep looking out for pictures signs with chicken, ducks on. Im mad on them.
The writing i have had a story a short on put on display at our library. Its a about a man witnessing a murder from his tenth floor flat over looking a canal. We are trying to get more members. Judith cutler and husbend also a writer name escapes me came to do a talk they do crime novals. This gave me the inspiration to write it. I will not make a habit of this subject thought too gruesome.
We had a short rain fall today with a bit of thunder but not much its been sunny for days. Been outside all holiday love it  . Right im gonna look round site bye for now from Joanne

    Hi Joanne,

Support from an established author is worth so much isn't it? I, long ago, had encouragement from Catherine Cookson..... she was a lovely lady and very encouraging for both the rescue I was then doing and my writing... she even rang a few times to 'lean' on me to get into print....

She was a lovely lady and well i was so lucky eh? I did write the book but then confidence slump and it sits in the spare room... well it doesn't actually... i am re-doing it and changing it a bit.....

Then..... I need an agent and they are harder than publishers!

Had black rocks, they are nice hens but go broody at the drop of a hat..... Layers the hybrids are the best at laying... and they need a life after what they have been through

I love marans, got a maran type cockerill (he is actually a Sussex cross maran but looks like the maran) and so far all hatchlings have been grey maran types and female.... I am Cornish and we have some 'old' beliefs and be honest on the eggs its been 100% I am glad most mine don't go broody as the chances of cockerels is too high.....

Please say hi to your OH and ask him to come and help with the shed  I am so useless at the mo flower... mind I getting some help next week.....

Its been good to see you and don't do the disappearing thing cus I worry about you! I know others do as well.

Hey the fluffy headed ones are banties... they I did know a pair but the lad... oh he was nasty.... They do small eggs and not very regular so your oh is right there. You want either hybrids for number of eggs or Joanne the best eggs I know are copper marans! Beautiful dark brown shells and dark yolks.

I like my 2 cream legsbars  they are laying alternative days ad they are young..... but the eggs are blue shelled and i just like them  My mate does cream legs to a warren cockerel.... make for interesting hens for sure.... she got the fluffy feet pecans as well. I have some of her cast offs but I will see her about some real ped copper marans this year.....

Leaving you a cuppa, a ((((( ))))) and a big pleased to see you. love Cris xx

    Hi Joanne

Sorry late coming into your thread but just wanted to say "hello" and that I'm glad the anti d's are helping you to feel better again (even though you didn't want to have to take them again).

    Thinking of you.
