Hiya

I got my free gym 40 minute trial tomorrow...Not sure what the heck to expect and bit apprehensive really..I know its a stupid thing to be a tad nervous about but the last time i entered any sort of gym place was well over 15 years ago and even then i wasnt no Dame Kelly Holmes!!!
If you dont hear from me in next week, im in traction!!

    Hi Elaine,
Are you going "off your own bat" or have you been recommened? If the doc has sent you they are bound to know your limitations.
Thats what I'm doing at the moment....only thing is I've been in Northern Ireland seeing my mam and have missed 2 weeks  I dread to think what I'll be like when I go this week

well done for givin it a go. try and watch the amount you do at first as its easy to over do it, you soon know your limit. i hope you enjoy yourself and feel some benefit.

Good on you for giving it a go. Your brave to try. Hope you have a good time, but be careful, or should I say take it slowly. I have my fingers crossed for you and my toes.

    Elaine,

Wishing you luck for tomorrow so what if you a**** of yourself at least you will have tried which is what counts and i sure you won't.
Make sure that you tell them if something is painful or sore and don't try to do it all in the first session.(remeber you are a finely honed tortorise, not a hare)
I will be keeping my ankles crossed for you (the only parts i can cross) try and enough yourself.

    Hi Elaine,
Good luck for tomorrow it will be interesting to hear how you get on. It has been years since I have been to my local sports centre. I must admit I did keep my distance where the gym was concerned so I am no help to you as to what to expect.
I am glad you don’t have far to go to get there, now just let us know what ward you are in and I am sure we will be able sneak in Sol when he returns from his travels!

    Hi I

Oh i will post on here how i get on whether it be good bad or ugly.....Ive never been a fitness person ever...When was teenager and I mean early teens i swam once a week, played badminton and walked but that was over 20 odd years ago...
I dont have far to go, leisure centre is literally 5 mins away but i will hurt and i sound silly but will take car or get lift first time...Hoping not to end up in ward, not that way....Aw Sol, I miss that dude, heard today he has made it there safe n sound but due to bank hols was in jiffy bag for well over a week, I felt like a bad parent....
