Hi I have noticed a few side effects whiel phoebe has been on mtx.
Including Over eating, changes in her behaviour and being hyperactive especially when taken mtx. I got to wondering if there were other people that had the same problem with their children.

With Kayleigh who is 5 her appetite is terrible sometimes she will eat normally others I struggle to get her to take a bite. I think part of this for her is she has arthritis in her jaw which affects her eating.
She can get really moody and angry and her attitude stinks big time. She def gets tired really easily but can be so aggressive at times and it seems to coincide with MTX injections and sometimes with flareups which she's been having lots lately.

Hi, Emma who is 8 , has always been on some level of prednisolone as well as methotrexate, so it was hard to know which med was responsible for what, I notice you have not included Nausea/vomiting on the list, is that beacause it goes without saying ? certainly Emma would not eat for one or two days after her tablets/injection, in spite of anti sickness stuff because she felt so sick,

Hi my daughter hasn't suffered with nausea/sickness while on mtx. I will try to add it, i am going to mentio it to her rheumy specialist.
Many thanks to all who have taken the poll. The answers will also help parents who's children have just started on mtx.
Many thanks again Michelle x0 -
No worries Michelle, It is good of you do run the poll. It was just that I have heard of many children suffering with nausea/and /or sickness, some changing from tabs to injection to lesson the side effect. It will be interesting to see others experiences,

Hi,
I'm new to all this. My son was diagnosed with systemic JIA (Still's) last month after a horrible summer of tests and hospitals. Now that we have the diagnosis he is being prescribed Prednisolone and now Mtx. We were advised to take the Mtx with milk to avoid the nausea and it seems to work. Hope this will help someone0
