Hello,

Looking for some advice and hoping to find someone in (or with experience of) a similar situation.

In a nutshell:
Congenital dislocation discovered age six in 1978 - several operations
Osteoarthritis diagnosed aged 14
Femeral osteotomy (FO) aged 24
Now aged 33 and pain has returned.

Wondering whether to have another FO or a hip replacement.

Would be great to hear from anyone who:
has already had one FO and is contemplating or has had a second
has recently had a hip replacement in their 30s.

Please do drop me a line if this sounds like you - at a bit of a frightening crossroads it feels.

Thanks

Lolly

Hi LollyT, and welcome to the forum. I can’t help with the F.O. I didn’t even have my first new hip until my 40s but I had 2 knee replacements in my 30s. One lasted 27 years & the other’s now 30 & still holding me up so, for me, they were a great choice.

I hope someone’ll be able to tell you more about their early hip replacements. All the best.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
