A short sighted verdict

I see the result of yesterdays voting as short sighted by the electorate for the councils, knowing what Labour has done to the economics of this country, the people have given them back control of the purse which they will use to buy more votes.

I am no lover of politicians in any of their forms, they are the soothsayers of their own doom and none of them seem to give us what we want, a steady, practical and pragmatic hand on the helm of the country.

Personally I found it a waste of time and money election! What is the point? Fair enough when it is time for the main elections, but council elections? come on!!! And as for this AV stuff! The way it should be is the person with the most votes wins! not the other way!! And all this is done on taxpayers money! why waste all that money on this rubbish when the money could be used on something worth while like saving some of these schools that are having to close down or the day centres for disabled that people like us need for a break from being stuck in our homes! that they are closing here there and every where! So stop wasting time and public money and do something worth while for a change! Right rant over!! Amanda, (bubbadog).

Well, things have changed for politicians, I think Alex Salmond, who is playing the long term game, has come out smelling of roses, he will get his vote and it my well trigger a separation of GB, a Scottish vote will give us English a vote.

I doubt if the breaking up of GB will make much difference to us, just in the way government is administered, each will have their own civil servants and ways of doing things, the true power will still be in Brussels with us fooling ourselves that the layers of government still work.
