Hey all,

I apologise for my absence. I was the girl ages ago who joined this site because my father had knee surgery for his RA. Since my last posts we have battled the system and we got ESA...finally after an appeal.

I just wanted to tell you or whoever is going through it to stick with it.

Even though we haven't stopped trying and fighting (you can only work the 16 hours permitted work for 1 year - this is our next battle) it has made things slightly easier to deal with and now all is left is to get my dad into a better house with proper heating and hopefully figure out what happens in November when he cant work the 16 hours anymore.

I will gladly give help to anyone doing the ESA forms/appeals as I know how much I valued any advice given to me at that time.

Take care all

Shelley x

    Hey guys,

Thanks for replies. At the minute we're now trying to figure out what happens in November when he isnt allowed to do the 16hrs. Thinking it may be worth coming off esa on to working tax credits. Just doing the math.

It's been great for my dad still being able to do a little work because he was a workaholic and still is now it seems which is a great thing.

A house is the next thing and calculating income,as living in a house with not proper heating doesnt do his joints any good.

He is off steroids now tho which is amazing because he's lost weight, giving him more energy.

Hope u all are ok and that Arthur is keeping at bay!

What's happened since i left? Any news?
    Xx

    Hi Shelley,

Ell you would have some reading to do to catch up

Your right about the heating as I don't have central heating and if I get too cold the bones bang more.

I hope the math will help you decide? I don't know much about ESA but make sure you do calculate everything before changing.

Glad he is doing ok and keep in touch. Cris x
