Car Tax

I seem to be nothing but wound up and angry latelt, but given the ineptitude of various organisations and how they mess people around its hardly surprising!!
As you all know too well, getting around out and about with arthur is a nightmare in itself. With this in mind my morning has been fraught to say the least!!
I had the horrible realisation yesterday that my car tax was due. I didnt have enough money in my bank account to pay online but i did have cash and decided to go to bank first thing and pay it in.
Before someone says i could pay cash at the post office, yes you can but my insurance company has not sent my policy to me yet so the only way i can do it is online as they check it electronically.
I had no choice but to park in a loading bay as outside bank because the car park was way outside the distance i can walk with my sticks.
The amount stated on the document sent from DVLA was £112.75 so i decided to pay in £115 to make it a round figure. I struggled into bank and waited in huge queue in great discomfort. After paying i came out to find a traffic warden giving me a ticket GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. Yes i know i should not park there but i didnt really have much choice.
I came home went straight online to pay only to discover that paying it online costs £118.25!!!!!!!!!!!
SOOOOOOOOO.. here i sit £3.50 short of the fee and i will have to go all the way back to bank to sort it out.
Thankfully i have rung my daughter and she is going to take me so at least i wont risk another ticket..
I HATE MONDAYS!!!!

Oh I do hate going to the bank Dotty, it is like Hell sometimes, for those of us who cannot stand up more than a couple of minutes without extreme bloody pain.... I am the same, even with both sticks or even both crutches it hurts to stand.
As for the ticket, well at least you realise that that was your fault and have held your hand up, it is a shame though..
Tend to find most banks are in awkward places when it comes to parking for disabled folks..
I hope that you get it sorted mi dear and your monday starts to improve.

LOL.. yes a lot of it but that particular comment was aimed at the DVLC for sending out documents with the wrong information on!!
Why send a person a document saying the fee is £112 when in actuality it is £118.00? No normal person would go online to check if the DVLA was telling the truth about it would they, if they have a letter from them?
They did the same thing to my son in law so something is amiss somewhere0 -
You can sort it out over the phone but the problem was your bank account would still not have had enough funds. If you had a blue badge would there have been a more convenient place to park near the bank( can you park in a loading bay temporarily with a blue badge as it not obstructing the flow of traffic)?. You can also put money into a bank via an outside 'box' at most banks so you don't have to queue.
As for the price diffeernce i think it would be admin costs that were added.

Hi Elizabeth
I am in the process of applying for blue badge and DLA so dont have one yet. I dont normally do all this stuff as OH does it for us but he is at work today. My nearest bank branch doesnt have one of those box things. I didnt even know about them until my son in law told me today. The nearest one is 8 miles from me.
According to son in law it wasnt admin charges. He said that they raise the price of it this time of year but have sent out the forms with the old price on.
Never mind all sorted now. Daughter took me up there and went into bank for me and i have now paid online! I think it best i dont let myself loose in public on my own in future, i get into too much trouble!!0 -

I got a fine parking in a loading bay. It was in front of the disabled bays which were all full. Traffic warden sat in window in the town hall and watched me park then came out and booked me!!!!0 -
