Hi janye
Not sure what the bad effects are you have, but l get the runs with diclos so have acroxia instead.....so far so good.
co-codamols and tramadol make me sicky woozy yukky so have butrans pain patches instead. The meds get slow released over 7 days so no BURST of the stuff to make me queasy.
You can get tramadols slow release too which do the same sort of thing.
Hope you get sorted soon
Love

I am one of the lucky ones: I am not nastily affected by pain dullers and I think I have a relatively high pain threshold. Pain killers don't do what they promise Janey - they will take the edge off but that is it. I think that one can adjust, over time - pain is always there with me, throbbing and twanging away but I am used to it and only up the strength of the dullers when really necessary. I am currently on 30/500 cocos, about four times a day but that is only because we are away and I don't want to spoil things for Mr DD.
You will adjust in time, you will find what works the best for you and at what dosage but it may take a little while for that to happen. Just do your best, you can do no more. Take care and keep as well as you can. I am thinking of you. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0 -
Hi Toni and DD sorry about the moaAning again, but things were going so well untill things were changed ,i realley dont mind the pain, but the side efects are very much like sea sickness or car sickness with a head very like migraine but much worse and i cant stop being sick even though i have not eaten, legs so weak i can hardly stand. My mum used to call this typ of thing a billious atack. The pounding head gose on and on hours after have lost the strenth to bother to get to the sink and ,the only ascape is sleep.MY DR HAS GIEN ME SOME NEW PILL THAT YOU PUT UNDER YOUR LIP AND IT MELTS AND GOSE into you blood realy fast ,thay are wonderfull. ALL THE BEST BOTH O ,dd are you having a good time, hope so jaynexxx0

Hello, I've found that it takes a while to adjust to some medication, tramadol, when I first took it, made me so out of it I thought I'd have to give them up, but got used to them. Sickness, must be horrible and I hope you find something that really takes the edge off the pain without knocking you out.

Hi Toni, The aweful problem with meds is the side effects! Tramadol made me violently sick! Had a really aweful time with them!I have been through many, many types of mixtures of meds to try and find something my body is o.k with, I don't think there is a mixture of drugs that give totally no side effects it is usually fatigue or the dreaded diarrhoea and sickness! or both!
I think we have to find a happy meidium some people are happy to life with some pain and limited meds and others the pain is way to painful to live life with so need a mixture of drugs and deal with whatever side effects they bring! Amanda. (bubadog).0 -

Morning Janey, it isn't easy sometimes finding meds that suit as some people are indeed very sensitive to them and are hugely troubled by side-effects. Despite not having the constitution of a horse I am one of the lucky ones for whom side-effects rarely crop up. Having said that due to a great increase in coco consumption I am constipated beyond all reason - even my anti-block meds aren't helping, anyone got a stick of anal dynamite to hand? I have tried beer and Thai curry, even that ain't helped! I am having a lovely time, I am about to go and get showered and dressed then it's time to hit the shops! Happiness is for DD. And a bottle of Syrup of Figs.Have you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Almost all meds give me tummy trouble, but, I try to get over, but, sometimes unsuccessfully I can't continue and have to change try something else. Tramadol gave the sickness feeling, told GP and he gave me anti-sickness tabs, seemed to do trick...in saying that, just come of them and gone on MST (Morphine) back on anti-sickness again til it settles down. Constipation is another problem, I sympathise with anyone who has problems with it...meds are a mine field!. Enjoy your break DD, thinking about you, give the shops some stick you've earned it. Good luck all. John x0

Your spelling is fine, I know what you mean and that is the important bit. We are still away, we might be having an extra night but I will definitely be home by Saturday night - my meds will have run out by then so it's a case of have to go home (plus the fact that the clean knicker supply will have run out. )
As for the picture thing, I will remind myself how it's done then send you a PM, OK? Take care. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
