Hi all
I was just wondering what hobbies and interests people on here have.
Myself I enjoy card making, cross stitch, knitting, reading and I am tracing my family tree on ancestry.com

Men. Love 'em, they make me laugh, make me think, are very entertaining and thought-provoking. Beer, love that too. Wine is OK, I love reading when I can concentrate, I also like spending money on sparkly things but mostly it's men. I have just watched a bunch of Superheroes wandering past the flat where we are currently residing - you name it, the Superhero was represented, albeit in a slightly podgy and balding form. Women just can't cut the Superhero mustard. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

People watching, there are some fascinating creatures out there folks
If I could sit all day I would sit all day watching people go by... I just narrate to myself in an Attenborough style voice what I think these curious beasts are up to.. Very entertaining...
Lol
That and music, I loves mi music..
Welcome by the way turbo, don't think we've met yet..
Be well folks.....
You'll all be narrating in your heads next time you're sat watching people go past...
Ala "And here, in the depths of the deepest jungle, in aisle twelve at tesco, we see the most common of all species, the chav, with its distinct aroma of 'da herb innit'....
The make of the species can be easily recognised by the scruffy feet, also known as knackerdus adidus to give them their latin name. Also the strangest of plumage, like some lop sided baseball cap.. The leg feathers around the lower back & buttock area purposely worn away showing bum crack in what is thought to be some kind of mating display.. Their calls are easily recognised too...
Grunts of, "man, dat grrrrrl is well ruff innit', 'babylon, rude boy, bo, brrrappppp' can often be heard through the night, especially around their favourite of haunts, the local shops...
The females are just as distinct, pink velour plumage, over sized ears that look like giant hooped earrings, the gaudy face colours, again thought to be something to do with the chav mating ritual.
Most females can be seen with at least two young in tow at any time... One of which will most likely be clinging to the mothers hip while the other is allowed to run riot around any surrounding area... The only communication ever witnessed between a mother and her young had always begun with the same call.. "get here ya little ##@##¤¥#£"
And it is always at the same, shrill pitch..
oooops, think I got a bit carried away with that then folks, lol......
..Well.. Now you know why I'm so daft..
Lol

I used to be a world traveller but those days are gone now.
Now love gardening. Just got into veggies this year for first time and having success so far!!
Also like trips to countryside. I did like long walks and picnics but cant walk now to limited to places that have seating and car park close by.
I am a facebook scrabble addict
Oh... and i love to laugh at every opportunity, sometimes when i shouldnt!! :oops:0 -
Oh Dotty, laughing at the most in-appropriate time is my forte
I reckon the arthur in my knees is from all of the years of me placing my feets in mi gob time after time
I do miss going for long walks though, wish I could just get the knees settled, the rest I can cope with, even the spine, sometimes anyway.. Rest is hands, wrists and elbows so NOT a problem when walking, well, apart from at the minute while I needs mi sticks or crutches  :x

Just the odd occasion, lol.
Hobbies, well, I love to clean, but, it has to be at waist height now, which frustrated me to the nth degree - I think it is from my career in nursing, that left me with a need to clean. Anyway, I do what I can and sometimes I try and do what I cannot, then get told off by OH and pay a hefty price.
We both love to people watch, have done for years, like you Tony, if I could sit for a long time, with cups of coffee, ashtray, no pain, then I could watch folks all day and make comments to each other, like "look at the state of that", oh "don't wear low cut jeans when you are, shall we say, well built.
We live in the countryside, I love to watch the birds, feed the ducks who wander around, listen to the owls at night
Love my computers too, would be lost without them, we seem to have so many, OH keeps buying different ones, at bargain prices, we are like PC world.
I am rambling, bless. Nice to read what other people like to do. XX BubblesXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Anything creative.....Art- Painting, drawing, visiting art galleries, and reading books about art. I attend two painting classes a week. Some photography.
Visiting the theatre and cinema. I especially enjoy watching ballet.
Learning more about computers ( another class )
Taking part in a charity fundraising group ( this year for Parkinson's UK )
Talking and listening. I take part in a discussion group with young people at a local comp. school.
Chatting to friends, and posting on here.
I'm never, ever bored. The only trouble is that there aren't enough hours in the day.

Loads of thing but don't always get the time....here we go
Knitting, sewing, painting (not the house ugg) reading, crosswords/word search, tattoo research, walking, chatting with friends, and just nothing but sitting and watching the world go by.0 -
I like to......read, brain puzzles on ds, going for walks (scooter) with my OH, listening to music, chatting to friends, going out for meals, and we both love people watching.......seems like a lot of us like that one.

I also enjoy tracing my family tree, but it does become more of an obsession than a hobby (see my signature!!).Carol are you on Genes Reunited, great for meeting people researching other branches of your family tree and swopping info (I have many contacts worldwide)?
Also involved in archaeology (trowel in hand Time Team fashion).Told my daughter that I'm not only tracing my ancestors now digging them up.
Love beer (real ale of course),not that fizzy, keg stuff that pretends to be beer but fails miserably or the cold, bland so called 'lagers' (Fosters etc............yuk).Also seriously enjoy beer festivals, great crowd and atmosphere, but like you 'delboy' get there too infrequently.......
Yes,I find people watching fascinating and like you 'Tony and Bubbles' could spend hours watching and analysing.Supermarkets are great arenas and love to see what people have in their trollies, great clue to their lifestyles (don't suffer chavs too much Tony, they frequent Tescos, probably to buy their Fosters;we shop at Morrisons!!).Do get moaned at by OH for not concentrating when she's clothes shopping.... :x
Love eating out (pub grub not posh nosh!).Great to combine hobbies of eating, beer and people watching (and of course chatting to friends).
Also enjoy listening to music, have wide interests from Kate Bush to Kate Bush (did I mention Kate Bush?).
Use to go on long walks with OH,have lovely countryside nearby and large atmospheric areas of marsh along the Swale estuary. But dear Arthur has stopped this at the moment.................. :evil .This I find the most frustrating and indeed upsetting aspect of this bl**dy complaint!!!

Hi Carol
Have 2833 people on my tree, but find it more and more difficult to add more without having to travel the country to consult Parish Registers.Have used Ancestry a lot to consult BMD and census records also have had success with Public Trees.
It's one hobby you can pursue without having to walk, but would, like yourself, prefer to go for long walks..................
