I hope every one is having a good morning,
I have had a phone call and a letter saying that a doctor from the DLA is coming out on the 17th to assess me at home. He is coming around 3.30-4pm. I am not looking forward to it at all, my head is all over the place with extra tabs ive been given from pain clinic.
Have any of yourselves been assessed like this? Any advice or dos and donts would be more than welcome.
I am now wishing this whole applying business would hurry up and close, getting worked up does me no good at all.
Oh well just have to wait and see what the DLA say after his assessment.
Take care and enjoy the sun

Hi Seamonkey
I think they are hoping to see you in your own environment and should see for themselves that you are struggling. They will 'see' walking aids etc around the house and should only do a minor physical exam (as Del said).
I suggest you have someone with you to support you who may be able to say it as it is if needs be, but so you don't feel you have to make acuppa for the doc etc!
I hope the idea is not to make you even more stressed by the whole process.
Huge luck

Hi SM
I haven't gone through this, but I just want to say good luck with it, and let us know how it goes.

Thankyou all for the replies,
I will let you know how it goes, i have decided not to have any one with me as i want a no holds barred assessment and im no good at letting others see how bad it is or saying how bad it gets. I know id not say it as it is if anyone else is around. Its right on the time kids would be home from school so ive arranged for someone to collect them off the bus, i dont want them to hear how bad it makes me.
Just hope i remember the appointment my memory is like sieve!!
