Hi all x after getting very little help via my gps after alot of searching l found this wonderful site and its help. I signed up to do one of its free courses and have just done part 2 of 6 challenging arthritis. 2 lovely lady volunteers run the course in my area. I am so glad l found the course via this website and met with others in similar positions. I would advise anyone who hasnt met up with others or is having problems to take part cos it really helps. xxx

    Hi there

Thank you so much for posting. It is great to hear that you have benefited so much from the course and will be continuing with it. Nowadays it would seem people are quick to condemn and it is fantastic that you have posted with such positiveness.

Your posting has made my day. May you go from strength to strength. I hope those who give up their time voluntarily, to help others, know how much it has helped you too.

The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything.

If you can lay down at night knowing in your heart that you made someone's day just a little bit better, you know you had a good day.

Your welcome :) its a shame these courses dont reach the gps? cos it would save them money too and if they know about them they certainly never told most of us who attend! I got a friend to attend too theres a mixture of people mostly women and l look forward to attending each week now and would certainly attend another. We were all given a good quality text boom all about athritis and fibromyalgia and access to leaflets and magazines lovely casual atmosphere and the 2 ladies who run it are lovely and totally understand both sufferers too. So anyone who hasnt been yet get yaself away you will enjoy and learn from it :) x

    Hi neicsey

Thanks for this post. So glad you found it helpful and am sure it will encourage others to attend if they get the chance. I know they are run by volunteers but do cost a bit to put on, so hopefully AC week will have raised a few more funds to run them so even more people can benefit.
    take care

Yea me too shame they have had to cancel them in past through lack of interest or folk not turning up l think thye should be advertised in doctors surgerys.... its costing the doc nothing and the patient gains!! Shame about funding them l didnt know how that worked x

    Hi Nicey

Glad to hear such a positive outcome for you from an A/C course.

I wonder where you live? I have been on 'the list' in Staffordshire for at least 2 years - gotta be....

    Love

Glad you found it so good. I live in the middle of Norfolk with little going on, so its hard to find something like that, which is a shame. Love Sue

That is great that the course is proving helpful. I don't know why GPs and hospitals don't hand out more leaflets about forums, groups and courses. We all seem to stumble on the resources ourselves and there must be so many people who miss out on the great support that we are lucky enough to have found.

I have had OA since mid twenties. It affects my hips and knees. I had a THR on the left aged 30 and now have a resurface-replacement on the right - done May 2010.
