There is a short sentence in their news round saying that they want to work with people who have the DLA mobility component withdrawn as a result of reassessment.

If I take a car and then get reassessed does that leave me liable to keep paying even if you don't get the benefit? Scary.

Interesting Airwave as I am now 7 months in on my current indefinate award and still waiting for my new car. I could recalled at anytime and be half way through my motability car at an assessment.I have been alsoconcerned about having to pay for the final part of a motability car too.

you will only get a motability car if you have 12 months left on your DLA award.
If you are reassessed and lose the High rate mobility , then if you appeal the decision .. you can keep the car for a further six months until the Tribunal date ( They check with DWP that an appeal is underway, though you need to tell them that you are appealing) .. if you win you carry on .. if you lose the car goes back and the contract is ended ..Therefore there is nothing to pay!.

I hope that will be the case, my dla is indefinite but given the fact that we will be reassessed and the guidelines may well be changed, we may find ourselves downgraded? ...... With a lease car and no income.

or with no income and no car! I traded my car in to use the scheme, it'll take me a long time to find some money again.

IT IS the case Airwave .. i had to ring Motability myself on behalf of someone the other day for exactly the same issue .. give them a ring yourself (perhaps anonymously?) and ask 0845 456 4566 if you are worried :)
At present it is unsure as to how motability will fit in with the PIP and Universal Credit.
