DLA DR assessment at home,

MOrning all,
Yesterday afternoon was the day a DR from the DLA came to my house to assess me.
I had been so worked up all week. I was having such a bad day, pain and mobility wise. I tried to do a few things she asked but others i couldnt even contemplate doing. I have no idea if it went 'well' or not, the DR was polite and respectful and made me feel at ease, although i was aching all over. When she asked what part of my body was sore today i said all of it i feel like ive been hit by a bus! Infact i dont think anything could have made me feel as bad.
She asked a few things but nothing that i hadnt put on my original form.
Now i have to sit and wait far 4 weeks or so she said untill i hear anything.
I have decided though that if i do get anything at all then i would like to pay someone to do my ironing and to come in and hoover and mop through the house once a week. These things i would have done daily before but now its just when i can. This would make me less tired so i can make more use of my energy with my 4 kids.
I shouldnt get my hopes up though but anything would make such a difference.
Just a waiting game now.
best wishes to you all,
seamonkey

Hope you get a good result, Seamonkey.
I had to smile when reading your post. Usually our bodies do exactly the opposite of what's required but I think, on this occasion, yours might just have come up with the goods. I do hope so.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

My fingers are crossed that you are successful and that your visiting doc actually had enough common sense to issue you with DLA as deserved . Jillyb0

Glad everything went well with your assessment yesterday, lets hope the Dr uses his common sense and realises that you are entitled to DLA

Good luck- hope it goes well. It sounds as though you are struggling. These drs are usually local drs from nearby who are contracted to do stuff like home visits for dla/dwp. From what i have heard they seem more friendly than the atos drs.
Did the dr give any indication of how it went, keep us posted.0 -

Hi seamonkey
Glad the visit is over after the stress of waiting and I do hope it went well and that you do get the award. As you say it would certainly help to get a bit of help with the chores and have more of the limited energy for the family stuff. I will keep my fingers crossed for you and hope they don't keep you waiting too long.
take care

Hi seamonkey, I am glad that the Dr's visit is over, it is very stressful and I remember the Dr coming to our house a few years back. I was in no state at all and could hardly speak, OH was on hand to help.
I hope they sort out your award quickly, I think I heard in less than 4 weeks and at the moment, they DLA seem to be rattling through forms at a rate of knots.
Keep us posted XX BubblesXX Aidan (still known as Bubbles).0 -
Hi sea monkey, hope you get it. I am thinking of getting a cleaner in once a week, as it would help so much, i think its a brill idea if it will give you more energy for your kids
good luck0 -
Hi ,
I didnt get anything turned down again. Apparently i can do all but fly!
Total rubbish written on form. Completely opposite to what us and others have said.
Im so so upset, angry and would like who ever made the decision to be me for just one day!!!!
Thank you for all your kind posts.
Im unsure of what to do next for the best. My nerves may shatter completely if i appeal!
Best wishes to you all
