I think valgus foot refers to flat feet, and the others are osteo/arthritic changes to the tendons and ankle joint linked to the flat footedness.. if you google the words thats what I was able to glean from the info.. I'm sure someone with more info will be along..

the navicular is a bone which has tendons running right next to it, i had an accessory navicular (extra bone) attached to mine. Its the bone just above the arch in your foot. I have pain still in mine an didnt realise you could oa of it.

Lots of medical terms hey its so confusing.

Well I recognise some of the words; with, and, joint and change.

Good luck Joan with the op on 6th June.

Thank you Tanith Princess Elizabeth Toni.
it would be good if doctors wrote in plain english so we can understand as it is about us.

    That's why they don't, Joan.

At a guess, I'd say you've got arthritis. Hopefully they can do something about it.

Brilliant answer tkachev, that had me laughing too! Doctors will write to other doctors in doctor language - fair enough. We are not doctors so won't necessarily understand what the heck they are on about - fair enough, but it is amazing just how much doctor language one picks up over the course of time.

As long as your GP understands/interprets correctly, and the surgeon is accurate in what he has says well, dachshund, I guess that is the important thing, yes? Good luck with it all, we are on a countdown to your op I believe - am I right in thinking it's June 6th? DD
