ankle operation 2nd June!

Had my pre-op on 13th May,it was a 4 hour marathon but it was Friday the 13th!!
Am due to have my ankle replacement operation on Thursday 2nd June (got to be at the hospital at 11am).Have mixed feelings, not looking forward to the op itself but will be great to be comparitively pain free and more mobile after all this time. The surgeon is supposed to be one of the best in his field, let's hope they're right.
Expect to be in a back slab for 2 weeks and then in plaster for 2-3 months, then followed by physio.Of course crutches will be the order of the day.
I know life is busy (I'm planning to do pocket duty myself complete with leg plaster!),but could someone jump in my pocket for the day,it's so re-assuring when we have others with us.
Will give a progress report when I get back home.
Regards
Ron

I wish you the very best, Ron, I am sure it will all go well. Yes, the recovery time is somewhat daunting but look at Rob, he has done very well and I am sure the same will apply to you. Do what you are told, when you are told, get lots of rest, be prepared for some pain etc post-op but that won't last, and rest assured we will be cheering you along the way. Hi all
Many thanks for your all your support prior my op.When I first joined the site hadn't realised what a great crowd they are on the forum.
It's such a great feeling to help others and yet to also have this banter on the chit chat forum.

Wishing you all the best for tomorrow Ron!
Long term picture - less pain, better mobility!! Tomorrow and the next few weeks are to be got through, but they'll be well worth it in the long term, I'm sure.
Good luck!
Kind regards,

Hi Ron
Sorry I was very nearly late, dont forget we are all here for you..... when you are done and dusted, like DD says we remember well our bobyger when he was going in to have his ankle fused, and now look at him not quite tap dancing but getting there.
I really do wish you well with all, and look forward to hearing from you when you are ready.
Take care.Love

Just in time. I have just seen this post and I will be performing pocket duty tomorrow. I have packed the lunch and I have got me ear defenders in case anyone nods off. I might be singing though as I will have my music with me so I do apologise if you hear some cats whining then just poke me, I do like to singJaki0
