Why are banks so b****y useless???
My OH had forgotten his pin number in January so we went to the bank and asked for a new pin. Simple? No. We went back every couple of weeks to chase it up and each time it was requested and we were told that it had been sent out. So again we waited and two weeks later we went back. He still hadn't received it.
Anyway three weeks ago we went back in and kicked up merry hell. We spoke to someone who seemed to be a bit useful. She took all our details and said that she would keep on top of it so that we knew someone was dealing with it.
On Friday, our benefits were paid in early and we went to the bank to get the money out (my card was still working). Good job we had gone into town as my card wasnt working. I knew my pin so it wasnt that I had forgotten it. I then went to speak to someone to ask if I could take money out over the counter. HA B****Y HA. Oh no you cant do that because it is web based!
At this point I turned into the Bride of Chucky!! I explained to the woman that I had to have some money for the weekend and I could not last the weekend without. She must have looked at me and thought - this woman could go a year without eating and still survive, a weekend wont kill her- she refused to be of any help.
Eventually I spoke to someone else who told me that I must have forgotten my pin as it had been requested the day before. I then explained that I knew my pin but it was OH who had requested his nearly 6 months ago. The helpful guy then sorted out for me to get some money out for the weekend (it wouldn't have been a problem had we not been going to a friends birthday in Little Clacton and needed petrol and beer money).
My points are:
1. Why did they cancel my pin instead of OH when they could see I had used my card regularly.
2. Why could the woman who thought she was god, not do what the helpful guy did and arrange for me to take some money out.
3. Are women who work in Banks trained to be rude and abrupt or did I just pick the one who was on her monthlies.
