Wondering if........

Anyone knows if there has ever been any medical research done into Talipes Equinovarus and how it affects sufferers in later life. The benefits people don't seem to understand what I'm going through with the onset of arthritis. I was born in 1959 and know that people born later with TE aren't usually put through as much surgery as I went through and therefore, maybe, don't have the same problems later in life. They seem to think that my "condition" will improve. This is sadly, not true but I don't know how to convey this.

Hi cloud9
Thanks for your posting.
For information on medical research done into Talipes Equinovarus see http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Talipes/Pages/clinical-trial.aspx.
I’m sorry to hear about the difficulties you are experiencing around the benefits people understanding your condition.
It is a good idea to get a benefits specialist to help you with your application (if you haven’t already). You can find help at your local Citizens Advice Bureau (http://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/index/getadvice.htm), Turn2Us (http://www.turn2us.org.uk/), Dial UK (http://www.dialuk.info/about.asp) or the Disability Law Service (http://www.dls.org.uk/about_us/contact.html).
I hope that helps.
Please ring our helplines on 0808 800 4050 if you would like to have a chat, or want more information.
Regards
Nick

Thankyou so much. I have contacted DIAL today and they have been extremely helpful. They've suggested I wait for a week and a half and if I still have no joy they will contact DLA and ESA themselves on my behalf. This was on your recomendation so thankyou.Sue (Cloud9)0
