Care & Disrepair grrrrr

In 2009 I got a wet room installed by care and repair, a 5 day job that took almost 8 weeks, leaving me without bathing facilities. Anyway it was well worth the wait even though I did fall and hurt myself over the tiles the workmen left in my dining room.
anyway after a few weeks of it being finished I started to notice things that was wrong, like the floor got wet then went flowing into my kitchen soaking the kitchen floor which I almost slipped on everytime I had a shower, they came and laid more hydro flooring in the kitchen but still I was not happy, it was supposed to be level access but clearly was not they built up the doorway like a step. So I complained and complained and complained (my favourite hobby lately) eventually after being fobbed off I contacted the Local Government Ombudsman, and a solicitor over the fall I had.
No one recalled the fall.....no one wrote anything down about the fall.... even though they stood in front of me and wrote all my injuries down.
as for the bathroom the LGO must have contacted them because I suddenly had a large possy from the council round, they agreed with me over the bathroom the problems and they are now going to pull most of it out and redo the job digging up the bathroom floor again!!!
As for the solicitor he couldn't get any truth from the council so dropped me like a ton of bricks. But I wasn't stopping there after reading lies about me from the employees from the council, so I wrote a letter to the head of the council and enclosed photos of my injuries, and told them they had 28 days to offer me some compensation or I would see them in county court with my witnesses as my neighbour had to come and pick me off the floor. I went through the employees statements with a fine toothcomb and pointed out all their blatant lies!! and proved it to the council heads. I received an offer of £1000 for the bruising which I am more than happy with as I never got doctors notes as I knew it was bruising nothing broken. God help them if anything had been. And now I am awaiting the bathroom being refitted. More upheaval but if they're gonna do a job they should do it right. Reason for letting you know is do not sit back and take crap from these people if your not happy COMPLAIN and complain until they listen, my neighbour also has had problems with care and repair but she treats them like they are doing her a favour, they are NOT, they are awarded money to help people like us and employ people to do the work, albeit in the case of my bathroom they were cowboys and I have told them they were cowboys much to their dismay.
And if need be use the Local Government Ombudsman and look up their site, it's a bit of an eyeopener, if your being failed by your care packages or anything they can make the council sort it out and you may be awarded damages.
Don't get done - get complaining.
I had to laugh when I contacted my solicitor to see what he thought of the £1000 compensation, he was gutted and asked me to hold back while he tried to get his £800 for 4 letters and a statement, so I did exactly what anyone who had been dropped like a ton of bricks would do, accepted the cheque and dropped the solicitor.
