Hi, I've got a GP appt at 4pm today......I want to try and get better pain management than i have.
He can change them all around {apart from my epilepsy ones} or add to them ...I dont care...as long as it helps.
Love

Good luck, Hileena. May the force be with you.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi,
Just come back from the docs......didnt get a chance to tell him much......basically I got kicked out the minute my 10 mins was up. with a prescription for tramadol. Dont know about that...I had it after my THR andI was OK I think......but i was groggy anyway after the op. I had hoped he would change the meds round....not just add to them....I said that to him.
I'll get the prescription made up and see how things go......if I'm in agony i might take one and thats it......Not feeling very happy after that appointment.

Remember, Hileena, it's just the end of that appointment not the end of the road. If it doesn't work out you can always go back. Take care.If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
Steven Wright0 -
So sorry Hileena that your appointment was not as you had hoped. But I do hope the Tramadol gives you some relief.
Thinking of you.

Hi Hileena
Im so sorry you had a bad appointment, it seems to be the norm these days...especially with Arthur...it usually oh you have arthritis so just go away and take these.
Hileena if you are still suffering after you take the tramadol...then you go back...wish we could all come and give them what for.. :roll:Love

Hi...dont know if I can keep going back.....he's the type that looks at his watch as soon as 9mins is up........doesnt matter that you havent been to see him in months...if you go over your time you get politely thrown out.

It was a very dismissive appointment.....he said no bladder problems , no bowel problems....I said YES I do......the bowel probs are to do with the medication but the bladder ones are different???? He just skipped over that and went on to his next question. It want until i was out that i realised he hadn't answered that one. I take notes to orthos etc and it always works but with him ....I had notes but didnt get a chance to look at them

Is there anyone else in the practice that you could see, Hileena? If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

Hi Tony
Yes very frustrating appointment.....frustration makes my pain worse....dont know about you?
I did try a while back...changing surgeries.....we have 3 in our village.....I rang the one my husband is with......receptionist questions.....Are you new to the area? No Do you have a doctor Yes......sorry we cant take you then
That was it....suppose i could give it another go....I could understand if it was in the next village or something but its not.
Oh well thats it until Monday anyway. I've got an appointement with an osteopath at 11am Mon so hopefully this will be more productive......I havent seen him since pre THR but used to go to him to get my back sorted so I do know him....anything is worth a try0 -
Hi Hileena
l couldn't change docs when l tried too....same reason - l alreday had one, but luckily the locum we had left to go to another surgery and he said l could come too so l did
The osteopath knows you so all being well he will be able to help you

Hi Toni
Thanks.......I'll give it another try....changing surgeries......what about the fact that Peter goes to another one???? They might just take me. Optimist.
Well got the prescription for tramadol when I was in town today.....dont know what I'll do with them yet......3 a day is what iwas told but I doubt that very much

I didn't think one man practices were legal since the Harold Shipman business. Maybe the locum is a way round this. As for changing - would PALS (Patients Advisory and Liaison Services - I think) be able to help? I found them very helpful when I had an orthotics problem. If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.
Steven Wright0 -
Hi
Thanks sticky...hadnt thought about PALS.......I'll try the normal way to get a move then poss try them.....I suppose he isnt a one man practice shes there 1 day a week....but you can never get an appt with her....everyone wants to see her rather than him

Hi, I had this problem with my GP & he told me to book a double appointment each time i need to see him. I now tell the receptionist this & have no more problems. I now get chance to sort out all my problems in one appointment He waits for me to get my notes out & lets me go through everything.
Not sure if thats an option for you.
debs0 -
Hi,
Not sure that is an option.....I tried once to do that and was told sorry no double appointments available?
Tomorrow I'll give it another go at changing surgeries and see what happens this time
Love

Good luck, debs0
