"Ah - you must be needle phobic!"

OK imagine the scene - Lovely day to go and get my bloods done. Arrived at the hospital only 4 people in front of me - result!!! When it was my turn the phlebotimist started off ok but couldn't get anything from my right arm. So she called her colleague and she couldn't get anything from my left arm. Decided to try my right arm again but nothing so then she tried my right hand. "Could I have a drink of water please?" I asked I'd been in the chair about 10 minutes at this point. They got me a drink which I drank in one. Next thing "Excuse me I feel a bit faint!". I was out cold. When I eventually came round somtime later I was in a room full of people and trainee doctors. "We'll just take your blood pressure" - 68 over 43!!! 'Oh dear are you needle phobic?" " NO" says I "I inject myself weekly". "Oh" says a voice"Do you suffer with low blood pressure?" "No" says I" I'm on medication for high blood pressure". "Oh" said the trainees "And it's obviously working isn't it?" says I.
Anyway because of paperwork I've just spent the last 3 hours in A&E making sure I'm ok but more to fill in their forms!! So now home feeling a right wally and missed half of this lovely day - what a waste!!

Could it have been the heat. Haven't you passed out before during a blood test?
Sorry you missed half the lovely day. But enjoy the evening and a well deserved glass of wine Kate!

PS - Glad you're feeling better, Kate xx0 -
No haven't passed out before when I've had anything done but have when Sarah broke her arm!! Feeling a lot better now although got a mega headache.
Len, why are you telling everybody about flashing in the hospital I thought we were keeping that between ourselves? And no no Y fronts here but then again I thought you had your Superman pants on yesterday!!!

I'm glad you are ok hun....
I had it happen to me once too, was just about to have a stress test type thing done (the one where they inject you instead of attempting to fall off disgracefully from a treadmill)... Now believe me when I say this, I'm far from needle-phobic... In fact I quite like them cos I'm a bit weird like that, lol...
Funny though..... My last memory before waking up on the floor was seeing a strange man loitering in the corridor in a fetching hospital gown.. In fact, it's coming back now, I remember him turning around and bending over to pick something up.......
Oh, God.... It's happening again......

Ha as long as he wasn't loitering in my work in a hospital gown
I fainted at work yesterday.....no idea why, have little memory of it; was sitting at my desk one minute, felt a bit hot next and thought I should get some air, next minute I wake up downstairs on the wc floor.
have spent a good chunk of this morning being tested for all sorts as i've been off colour all week, i thought it was just coming off the ciclosporan but now I know it could have been a scary apparition
