RA flare-up in sacroiliac joints

I am struggling with a flare-up in my sacroiliac joints, which have never been affected before. Steroid injections and pills have not helped thus far. Has anyone suffered a similar flare-up? If so, how long did it last and what helped? I am waiting to see a pain specialist but meanwhile I resent it having such a negative effect on my life!
Thanks in advance,
Rozzie

Evening Rozzie
Just wondered if things are any better for you and whether the flare shows any signs of easing?
Thinking of you.

Rozzie, i hope you get the appointment with the pain clinic through soon.
I can't really help you with the flare i do have a lot of problems wth my lower back but have never been told it is the sacroiliac joints that are to blame.
Most flare up vary from person to person so it is really hard to say hpw long they will last, are you able to ask your gp to expediate the appointment with the pain clinic.
it is very hard ot deal with the pain we have to put up with i hope you get seen soon

Gosh Rozzie
this sounds very painful....l have inflamatory arthritis and have had pain in that area myself, but luckily only ever for short periods....l beleive those with ankolising spondylosis(sp) get this sort of pain too :???:
I do hope that your appointment comes through soon...are you able to use any walking aids to protect yourself?
Love and sympathy (not much use)

Hi Rozzie..
How are you today.. I hope the flare has gone down a bit..
Unfortunately i can't help with sacroiliac joints, might be worth posting in the search box and see if anything comes up from a previous thread..
If it goes on for too long though, may be worth seeing your doc again..
Take care..xxxTracyxx0 -
My sacro iliacs have hurt constantly for about three years now, I'm used to it and don't really notice them any more. I have PA and OA, not RA, and have never had any lasting relief from steroids or pain dullers. I hope things have eased for you now and that life is more comfortable. I wish you well. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0
