I always wonder if moving from somwhere comparitively damp like the southwest midlands to a drier county like Bedfordshire, or vis a vis, materially affects osteoarthritic symptoms in England, but can never find anyone who has the personal experience to express an opinion. I ask because was once told that a move from Cornwall to Northants was beneficial for someone, but to what extent I do not know. Can anyone on here comment please? Moving in hope only is not a very attractive proposition!

An interesting idea, Sisyphus, but I think if I was contemplating moving lock, stock and rheumatologists across the country I'd want hard stats rather than personal opinions to help me make my decision.

Some of us find different types of weather affect our joints and others don't. But there are lots of other factors besides weather that can make a big difference - GPs, hospitals, family, friends, to name but a few.

Unfortunately there are no quick fixes with arthritis. It might be that somewhere on line you can find some figures as to percentages of arthritics per population per county. It'd have to be very conclusive to persuade me to move.
If at first you don't succeed, then skydiving definitely isn't for you.

If you find that the weather makes such a difference forget the UK. I live in the driest area of the country, East Anglia, and the pain is unrelenting. I think what might be needed is a cllimate such as that found in Greece - hot, dry weather, not hot, humid weather. DD

I agree with DD  I'm in a dry but very cold end of the country and it affects mine badly......Different things for different people I think.....
What about a house swap for a longish period and see bhow it goes.....only joking but i thinbk you would need to be able to move for a fair length of time to juege for yoursel
