Numb finger and cervical spondylosis

Hiya,
Hope everyone ok,
For a few years now I've had occasional numbness and tingling in fingers. I've been referred for 2 nerve conduction tests ( for carpel tunnel). The first one was negative and I've not heard anything from hospital about the 2nd so I'm assuming that was neg too. Tonight my little pinky finger and my ring finger is numb but painful too. It travels up the side of my hand.
Does anyone with cervical spondylosis get this? I think it's either my ulnar nerve is trapped or there's something in my neck causing it.
Thanks,
Magenta x

Hi Magenta,
Sorry to hear you are having such a rotten time. I have RA but have problems with my fingers too. I had an ultra sound done on my hand and mine is caused by acute tendonitis. I hope you find an answer soon.

Hi Eileen,
right there with you only mine effects most the fingers and if I put my head down it can also do the same to the feet.
I think you need to run with it if you can? You need to know whats causing it (mine is peripheral nerve pushing and squeezing) and more importantly what can they do about it?! For me the answer was preagbs and the pain clinics intervention... how ever intrusive i will go for it
It might be a bit of physio could help but you do need to run with it and find out why its doing it and can it be helped.
Leaving you an anti pins and needles draft and a (((( )))) with a hope you had a god weekend? Love Cris xx0 -

Hi, I have cervical spondylosis and I do get this. It used to only be on one hand, but is now in both. Mine is caused by the neck problems pressing on the nerves, as it is in my feet as well, and has been confirmed follows the nerve path or something!!
I have inflammatory arthritis and contractures etc as well, so mine is complicated. I have to agree you need to get it diagnosed as to the cause.
It can also be caused by resting on your elbows, so you have to notice if it happens when you are leaning on your elbows, or if you have swelling in your elbows.
Have you had an mri?0 -
Hi all,
Thanks for your replies. I'm going to have to go back to drs but it'll be put down to my fibro again. I've not had an mri of my neck (I want one) but drs say my neck oa is 'just age-related'. It's also happening in my toes which I've not had before.
I'll let you know how things go,

magenta if you tell them how and which toes it affects this will back up what you are saying. i thought I was mad telling my docs my feet were affected, and thought it wanst related to my neck.. However mine was classic, so was diagnosed.
i don't have fibro so not sure how that affects things.0 -
Hi
I have cervical and lumbar spondylosis and have trouble with my handds and sometimes my feet. I get pins and needles in my hands and the tip of my middle right hand finger is numb. and I have problems with my other fingers. Dr mentioned Carpel tunnel a while ago but not referred me for testing. I think mine is related to my neck.

Hi,
I have been having tingling in hands and feet for 3 days now.. mine is constant.. I have yet to go to Gp...
Hope you get it sorted...xxTracyxx0 -
Hi Eileen , Hi not been on much lately so missed your post , So things are'nt any better not that i am surprised . I have the same problem with numb hands and tingling, not been to the specialist yet my gp says to wait until my RA meds have a chance to work. I find walking with my sticks is difficult as they go numb all the time, and every night i wake up and have to get up and put my arms down and shack them for ages to get rid of the pain and tingling.
Have you managed to sort your jaw at all? I hope you are feeling ok at the moment and not in so much pain. You look after yourself . jillyxx0 -
Hiya,
I've made an appointment to see a GP next Tuesday. My neck is really bothering me, I'm in so much pain. It's happeneing near enough weekly at the moment. It feels like I've got a very bad cold as my neck and throat are very sore. My neck at the base (back) is so stiff.
Jilly, how are you? thanks for asking about my jaw-I had my op last Friday where they done 'bilateral arthrocentesis'!! on me under a general-I don't think it's worked I'm not having a good day-my car failed it's MOT, going to cost £700 to get fixed!
Feeling c**p, hope everyone else is ok though?
