Hi
I am sorry that I am here to moan, but I don`t know where else to go.
I have had a bad week of pain with my hips, back, legs , hands and shoulders. Sciatica has also been a horrid addition again. Hence I am not feeling at my best, lack of sleep, etc...
I had my Hydro appointment first thing, and although the physio is great, it hurt! She has had a long talk about how we can achieve the best results without pain. And to try to build my confidence re mobility and worry about my hip behaving.
After that I hobbled to my car, drove to town, as I had an optician appointment too. As I found a disabled parking space, I noticed a Police car follow me, park behind me and gesture for me to wind down my window. So I got my badge out, and wound down my window to ask what was theproblem. To which he replied, `you do know this is a disabled
bay?` I showed my badge and bit my tongue! Yes that old one, oooh you looked too young to have a blue badge! Grrrrr! Well maybe nobody has told my stupid achey creaky joints and body that I`m too young. On seeing my badge he just wound up his window and drove off, no apology or anything. Leaving me to get out of the car whilst other people watched me to see what the police wanted with me, or maybe just check I was really worthy of my badge/parking space. If I didn`t have my opticians appointment I think i would have drove away home, but instead got out and blinked back my tears.
I am home again now and feel really fed up, and still hurting.
Sorry to moan xx
NB

    Hi NB
What a prat that policeman was, after you showed him your badge the least he could have done would be to say good day or something.

Try keep your chin up. Physio made my joints worse I couldnt walk for days with the pain following a session and despite me telling my physio this she continued to ask the cvirtually impossible at least you get hydro apparently according to my physio its not for RA. :?:  :???:

NB, you've had the morning from hell but, hopefully, the hydro will work for you eventually although I guess a first session can be painful as long lost muscles creak into gear.

It was unfortunate that you had to go straight to another appointment. Hindsight is a great teacher but how could you know in advance it would be so difficult?

As for the PC - last straw I'd imagine but his rudeness and insensitivity is his problem (and that of his nearest & dearest), not yours. Let it go. You have more important stuff to deal with.

I hope the hydro starts working for you soon and you feel a lot better. It was always the coveted treatment by all arthritics in my local hospital.

Hi, and thanks Theresa and Sticky
I am feeling a bit better now and have spent a few minutes chunnering about what a prat the policeman was!
I would have probably dealt with it better if I was feeling less tired and sore.
The hydro is good, it was my 2nd one of this course, but i have had it before. They do sessions for RA too, i saw some sessions on their schedule there, ??
I am having a quiet afternoon and hoping all settles ready for work tomorrow
    Thanks againxx

You do sound a lot better now NB. Amazing what a rest and a cuppa can do.

I think the PC element just came at the wrong time for you. I had a similar episode about 35 yrs ago in Tavistock (You can see I've never forgiven Tavistock!). We can deal with these things on a relatively good day but when all joints are screaming at us and we're totally shattered it's a different matter.

I do hope the hydro does a lot of good. Keep us informed.

Oh NB I really do feel for you, I am going through hell at the min with this sciatic pain...the gabapentin was the only thing to take the edge off it.
I hope it eases up for you very soon, good luck with the physio.

Hi NB... Well, what an ignorant git...

I had similar two days ago.
Where I pick Janet up from there are some double yellows &i usually park on them but it's not as close as I can get providing the security let me through the gate. I know they don't have to let me through.. There are two disabled bays through the gate. Lately he's been letting me through the gate for the bays, two days ago he stopped me & asked if he could look at my badge.. I just said that I bet he wouldn't ask to see my badge if I was an old fart... He jokingly said he would but I am quite sure that he wouldn't.. I do still appreciate him letting me through don't get me wrong.. I wonder what percentage of blue badge owners actually only have them purely because they're old and think they should have one... I know a few round here for a start. Nothing wrong with them.. And I know that as fact not just speculating.. I know that I'm guilty of judging people by looking at them, thinking oh there's nowt wrong with them, they look fine.. We all do it, even if it's just for a split second..

    Sorry, I digressed.. Lol
    Still dopey,ooops, drowsy, haha

Hope you are alright NB..

I too hope that today is proving to be a better one for you. BBs are a minefield for misunderstandings, instant snap judgements about people, ignorance and anger. DD
