Hey all......
Just wondering if anyone has ever tried arthrotec ?
It's apparently diclofenac with a built in stomach protector.

Hi Keith
Had it and felt as sick as a dog all the time, so much so that when i went swimming nearly was sick....It upset my tummy/bowel so much could only tolerate a week of it...

Whoa, two conflicting reports!
Was just thinking it'd be easier to take one tablet as opposed to taking diclo and a stomach protector.

What suits one may not suit another. It's the same with all medication and you won't know what is best for you until you try something. This is another reason why finding the right treatment can take so long, I think it is one of the most exasperating aspects of the whole arthritis malarkey. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Will ask my doc if they can prescribe the arthrotec as it makes more sense to me to take just one tablet.
The diclofenac isn't really having any noticable effect on my symptoms & it's been nearly a week.
Think I'm just gonna have to wait it out for a while & see if things calm down.
How'd the pain course go DD??

Thanks for asking Keith, I was just wondering myself. Come on DD let us know how it went.

Ps.. Sorry Keith, It's just you bought it to my mind. Bit naughty I know as it was your thread. SorryKaren xx0 -
I have a friend with OA of the shoulders...she takes it and swears by it Keith.
I think it has to be worth a try?

Hi keith
I was on arthrotec for a couple of years and then it wasn't as effective so they changed me to celebrex.
Hope it works for you, as I said , It worked a couple of years and no side effects that I can report.
Good luck

Thanks for the personal experience everyone, will see if the gp is willing to prescribe them for me.

Hello Keith
Not tried this one - but sounds as if it might be worth a go. Although if the diclo isn't helping you, perhaps an alternative anti-inflamm would be a better option, even if you have to take a stomach protector alongside.
