Final straw today!

Well today has been productive in an odd kind of way! Having been told I'd probably wait a couple of weeks for a ct scan I phoned to see where they were at, thinking I'd be due, only to be told would be at least another month and there was nothing I could do to speed it up. The thought of waiting another 2 months before even seeing the consultant again drove me to ring the drs for an appointment. I walked in, burst into tears and poured the whole story out - wasnt expecting that! Hes going to write strsight away and tell them they'll have to speed it up. Think have just about reached the end of my tether today

When I have to go for an MRI I always say that I can take a cancellation - admittedly I am very lucky in that I live a five minute drive from the hospital but on the last two occasions they have rung, said they have a cancellation for later that day, could I make it? It is a good way to beat the queue, if you are within a reasonable distance of the hospital. I wish you well and I hope the appopintment comes through sooner than you think. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Oh Josie, I hope that you get good news through the post soon. Let us know as soon as you hear. I will do pocket duty for you. Feeling down myself but for another reason. Had a hot bath, washed hair etc. and decided to go out into my back garden but was shocked to find drain blocked. Got my mop and plunged it into the drain and got rid of excess water but there is still something blocking the drain further down. Fed up and just want to sell my home. Wrist is so sore from using the mop. It hurts typing. Will go and have a lie down.
Take care,
Maria

Have just got an appointment for scan in post for another 3 weeks which was pretty much how long i was told it would be! Makes you wonder what is the point0

Hi
I have exactly the same problem. My Rheumy put me for a yearly visit to see her (Which I think is way too long) then I got a letter putting my appointment back by another 3 months! They say its because of the snow we had!
I have been to the dept for my steroid injections and have mentioned this but still waiting for them to give me my original appointment back or something closer to the proper time.
It makes you feel like you're just a number to them, not a person.

I think one of the problems we all have is we know we are an individual and our needs are important to us, but the powers-that-be are dealing with so many others who feel the same, all at the same time. I am one of many calling upon the resources of my local hospital, the rheumatology unit is the fastest-growing one they have. DDHave you got the despatches? No, I always walk like this. Eddie Braben0

Hi, Hope you get seen soon. I had an MRI scan and that was done withing a few weeks as I was able to take a cancellation.
Maybe you'll be offered something like that, I hope so.
Lots of love suexx0 -
Oh l am sorry you have to wait when you feel so very deperate.
I dont know if it helps, but CT scans are used for so many things some of them life threatening such as accidents and my own daughter at 15 was rushed into one as she was very very poorly.
I expect only so much of their 'time' can be saved for planned investiagtions such as yours.
I don't suppose it does help, but we will be with you to support you as you count down to getting some answers.
Love and hugs
