Found out about this today when I renewed my library card. Hope it's of interest to someone on here
National Eye Health Week event: Vision screening and awareness day (York)

York Blind and Partially Sighted Society will be at York Central Library on Wednesday, 15th June where they will be offereing basic vision screening to members of the public and explaining the importance of having regular eye tests.
Tying in with Make a Noise in Libraries Week library staff will be promoting library services available for people with visual impairment including the full range of different reading formats - from standard print, Big Print newspaper, audio books through to e-books.
The Wilberforce Trust will also be in attendance to promote their services.
