I am sat watching The Trooping of the Colour, It is a fantastic spectacle and binds our heritage. I marvel at the young men who march and play with purpose and passion but who are a day to day basis fighting out in Afghanistan and other places.

I feel very proud of them all and the spectacle has brought a tear to my eye.

We support some of the people who took part financially ; think they're known as royals ( or was it waste of space ? ) . Sorry all , I support the troops whole heartedly , just not the hoorays . Jillyb

I remember a couple of years ago I was in town with my girls when we saw a parade of tanks and soldiers from WW2. Everyone stopped and applauded the soldiers as they marched by, straight backed, with their medals on. It was truly inspiring and when my middle child (she was about 6 at the time) said "Oo are all these old blokes?" One of them turned and winked at her, he laughed out loud! I did explain to my girls that they risked their lives for us and they were suitably awed after that :D

Thanks for the memory - I'd forgotten all about that!

I watched Trooping the colour. I really enjoyed and when it finished I turned to the OH and said 'I would like to go and see it one day' to witched he answered 'put it on the wish list' which we have since Dad passed away last July. It was lovely to see the solidiers in thier uniforms and the horses and the royals. Yes I really enjoyed it!

Would loved to have seen it and usually do but am staying with my daughter and family who decided to take me out for a little trip to see some beautiful scenery.
Unfortunately the "little trip" was an Irish one and we drove to the back of beyond! Absolutely killed my painful back and whilst the scenery was very beautiful I could have said that a photo would have sufficed!!! :x

However, Son-in-law did buy us a lovely meal which was good of him but it does make me wonder if they have ANY idea of the pain I go thro' day by day.

Will be going to see The Edinburgh Tattoo this year which I am really looking forward to.
Hope I can find a repeat of the trooping of the colour.
