Hi Helen,
I have RA I was first diagnosed at 15. But after the initial frozen sholder it lay dormant until I was 30 when I had my 2nd son then it hit the fan.
I have very deformed joints mainly due to not being treated aggressivly enough when I was diagnosed!! Make sure that doesn't happen to you.
If I knew then what I know now I would have done things differently.

Hi Helen,
I'm new too and have to say everyone is so friendly and has loads of good advice.
I also have RA; started when I was 10 and am now 45! I agree don't letit run riot in your body (as I did :???: ). I was too young to understand the implications and my parents just believed everything the Consultant said and trusted that he knew best. Consequently I have lots of deformed/calcified joints and am finding life difficult atm due to a flare up. But look on the bright side and stay positive - it helps! I've always wanted to be known as 'me' rather than 'the person with RA' so never let it beat me if i can help it. However, i've had 2 great kids and lead a fulfilling life; I always think there's someone worse off than me.
I look forward to your posts.
